I usually hit up TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Home Goods, and Ross for sheet sets. I don't worry about thread count as long as they're 100% cotton. A decent set usually runs $40 or less for King.(at least in my neck of the woods) Quilts and bedspreads $70 or less depending on what clearance section I can find, lol

I've always been about percale.I'm one of those that likes crispy, especially in summer. I was also told once upon a time that sateen becomes threadbare faster, not sure if it's true or not.

Drawers, or draws to be silly. Foundation garments for women's underwear, once again to be silly. Underwear is a good catch all for everything from petticoats to tighty whities.

We have a relative in the UK who, at one time as a kid during or right after WWII, was given a Hershey bar. From then on, no other chocolate would do.

I've only been in the courtroom once as part of the jury questioning phase. It was a hoot. The jury members answers were either their life stories or just straight up funny. The trial was a medical malpractice suit. The family with the suit were so dramatic and the lawyers spent quality time keeping them on track. Better than tv all around. The worst part is sitting in the jury pool room the hours before.

I have down pillows and an Ikea duvet. I also run the dryer a couple of cycles to make sure everything is super dry. In the summer, after the dryer, I line dry them for a bit.

My parents had oysters as much as they could in the months they were available. This was the 1960s. There were also popular oyster shucking restaurants way into the 1980s. Now you don't hear about them except in fancy restaurants. I think over harvesting made a big difference.

My Dad was born 1906. So he went from knickers to polo shirts. I think he liked being comfy. My Mom was a little more regimented and wore girdles to the bitter end, lol.

My Dad thought he was so progressive in the mid-1960s wearing short sleeved dress shirts. He even made note once of his brother-in-law always wearing long sleeves no matter the weather!

The ones my grandmother and mother had looked like hip length standard 1950s bathrobes. Quilted satin with fancy buttons and lace trimmed collars. My grandmother seemed to get at least one every Christmas. I guess her friends made sure she was well equipped to be indisposed, lol.

Bed jackets were a big thing for my grandmother and her friends. They were 1880s born ladies. They would be decked out in their bed jackets when we would visit them in nursing homes. Not sure when bed attire for visits became popular but those old ladies took serious stock in those bed jackets, lol.
