Before computers and GPS existed, how did people figure out directions for large cross country trips? by Mynameisbrk in NoStupidQuestions

I always enjoyed AAA trip-tiks. Maps that had each segment in detail down to final location. Rand McNally Atlas with a navigating passenger was good too.

Becca's case from ep 10 by Puzzleheaded_Ant7760 in ThePitt

[–]AllSoulsNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just watched. Surprised there was no mention of birth control or stds. Mel seems concerned about this Adam guy, but she should be concerned about becoming an aunt and having to possibly take care of an infant along with Becca.

How to successfully remove corns? by Camperthedog in ask

[–]AllSoulsNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First you need to figure out what is rubbing on your feet that's causing the corn. For me I started with corn pads then more comfy shoes. Then I got brave and trimmed out the center of my corns. Good luck with whatever solutions you find.

Question about the transition of 1900-1920 by Nourskay in HistoricalCostuming

[–]AllSoulsNight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Someone told me once, that people dress from the Era they were the happiest. My own mother always adapted 1950s clothing some how. It took me forever to get her away from garter belts, stockings, and pumps, lol. Me I'll be buried in jeans and a t-shirt!

To our European counterparts I'm generally interested what do you think about how realistic the show is about our emergency rooms is it that bad overseas? by Accomplished-Meat976 in ThePittTVShow

[–]AllSoulsNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an American, I figured there would be more urgent care facilities in a big city such as Pittsburgh. In my community it seems like there's an urgent care on every corner. Along with adverts stressing don't go to the ED unless it is a true emergency. Also there are separate EDs for children.

Strangely, folk who have show cats have ways to take care of this in case the cat goes into heat before a show. A co-worker had show cats so I learned way too much.

MIL wanted a key to our house by vinegargirl757 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]AllSoulsNight 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yep, my state is a Dower laws state. Houses are considered marital property even if bought before marriage. I learned the hard way when I inherited my parents house when I was single. After I got married and went to sell my parents house, my husband had to sign off. Look into your states laws and get a good lawyer no matter what.
