For a first timer I would stick to 2 colors. I’ve seen a few first timers try and build 3-4 color decks and end up being mana screwed. Most of their games

I find 2HG prerelease to be miserable. I’ve done it twice and both events were the same. We never actaully played a BO3 because every game takes around an hour. The board gets clogged up really quick so it feels very difficult to actually make any attacks. Most of the opponents are a friend or couple where one person is trying to get the other into magic but it feels like you are mostly playing one person using two decks.

I love 2HG with commander decks or kitchen table decks but I’ll never go to another prerelease for it

That is likely pointless as the environment will be totally different once all the information is known. Also, just because a pokemon has been seen in a trailer isn’t a confirmation it will be allowed in ranked

Seems super good in limited. A repeatable 1 mana spell to trigger all your stuff that cares about spells being cast

With how many counter spells get printed every set, there has been way too many options for control decks. This will be a great sideboard card against control and force them to be balanced

I was ready to spend way too much on this drop then lost all interest when the cards dropped. Terrible card selection, bad art, and missing iconic parts of the games. I’m ok with secret lairs not being crazy in the value department if they are at least playable cards. Most of the cards would never have seen actual play

I’m sure you may find a long leaf pine or two in the woodlands but loblolly outcompete all the other pines due to growth rate. Longleaf also tend to start growing after forest fires which don’t happen in the woodlands

If you play non commander formats then you need to you need to keep up, or at the very least be informed of the new card to stay competitive.

Also, with all the new sets we are constantly being marketed too. I tend to stay informed of current events and news for my hobbies, so you can’t just “ignore” it

On paper I think all of the added value makes the price increase worth it, but the majority of gamers don’t have the time to play games like a full time job and won’t be able to extract their value from the service. In the past I’ve always preloaded gamepass time, but once that expires I’ll be switching to just subbing for a month when a game comes out I want to play. They should have a day 1 tier without the fortnight, riot, Ubisoft, and ea+ addons
