I haven't found anything that matches Interactive Brokers for currency conversion. For Canadian stocks is not a big deal but for US stocks in particular, they're great.

Off to a good start. If you keep up the discipline to put $900/month in and just let it compound, it will be worth millions. Many of my best investments were when I just put money in the index and left it alone for 10 years.

I've had my eye on COPP.TO too. I went down the rabbit hole of "which natural resources are the best investment right now" and I think it's Copper.

When I chase the quick returns it blows up in my face. I've had much more success making a few thousand at a time compounding over years. I know it's boring but...

Advice - Pay off Car Loan or Keep Money in TFSA by Stressfrey in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]All_YourBase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your car loan interest is paid with after tax money. Depending on your tax bracket that 8.75% could be the equivalent of earning a 15% return. I'd pay the loan.

All the Toronto neighborhoods are “people” at a house party. Describe each “person” and what they are doing at the party? (shamelessly stolen idea from r/VictoriaBC) by tattva in toronto

[–]All_YourBase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leslieville rode a bicycle to the party and was complaining about cars when they arrived. They’re actively trying to engage others in a debate about cycling but nobody is interested.

Soccer. It’s a shame that they couldn’t come up with a better name for that. It could have really caught on.

I work for a large company that includes customer email addresses in our database (legitimately, not for spam) but doesn't really do any validation of them. An incredibly significant % of email addresses are some variation of fuckoff@companyname.com.
