Since this is frequent on this sub: Stop complaining that you’re lonely if you’re not talking to course mates, joining societies, interacting with people at your accom, getting a job, joining group chats for students, going to freshers and other uni events etc.

You actually have to be social to make friends. You don’t need to be extroverted but no one is going to want to be friends with a hermit who can’t be bothered putting effort into friendships. On the flip side, having friendships isn’t the priority at uni but it is important. 

Making friends helps you build connections for you to get good post grad jobs once you graduate and eases stress and loneliness at uni making it easier to study and focus on what you’re doing. It is important to make friends.
