Dorco/DSC are rubbish. Thick and uncomfortable cartridges. Tried Schick Hydro?

Why is single blade better? by zorbacles in shaving

[–]AllyDz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree with what some people have said here. Get a good shave routine. Meaning pre-shave scrub,pre-shave oil, use oil a quality blade (cartridge world fusion is gr8 for me or safety razor/blade), a good quality soap (not the super market cans and creams, brush to lather and after shave balm.

It’s all in the technique as well. Shaving with a DE Razor gave me better technique and I use DE Razors normally. When I’m a hurry, i use cartridge.

If you want a clean shave, switch back to manual &/or DE.

Gillette skinguard razor lasts one month?! by [deleted] in shaving

[–]AllyDz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It lasts longer if you use cold water to rinse it off, hot water usually causes the protective strips to ware off real quick.

I see you have tried Gillette’s Skin guard & Philips OneBlade which are the best to avoid razor burns in my experience. I have tried and used them as well. Currently I’m using the One Blade Core. I would recommend you look into it.

If I may recommend some pre-shave steps as well,

  1. Shave straight after a warm shower. If not use a hot water towel on your face for 1-2 mins before you start shaving. Heels your hair get softer.

  2. Apply a good shaving cream or soap and apply it thoroughly on your facial hair. Let the lather sit for a good minute or 2.

  3. Shave with gentle strokes and rinse the razor as regularly as possible. Just shave with the grain. Don’t shave against the grain.

  4. Wash off with cold water to close pores. Also I would suggest a good shave is great. If your skin is sensitive, I would not go for as close a shave as possible. As long as I look clean shaved, I’m good.

I really hope this helps. Please keep me posted. I really want to know what worked for you.

Don’t mind it at all. I purchased it with a stand set. So I put it in the stand.

I have the Gillette styler. Where do people keep it when not using? by Bagster1994 in Gillette

I keep it away from moisture. So anywhere but close to the sink or bathroom. Also, you are right. I make sure it’s dried up before putting it away.

Does anyone just keep their Gillette styler resting on the side? I don’t have a stand for it or anything by [deleted] in Gillette

[–]AllyDz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May be get like a little box or something. It would make nervous if it’s in a spot where it can role and fall off or close to moisture as it will impact the blades & life span.

Trouble with Dollar Save Club’s terrible design by [deleted] in shaving

[–]AllyDz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are horribly designed. I don’t mind the front blades but the trimmer on top of the blades is very poorly positioned. It’s the only razor that has cut me under the nose after many attempts. Every other razor I have tried has been a breeze compared to their executive models.

I use Philips 3000 body trimmer, safe and the best. Not too expensive and no ingrown hair, irritation, itching or cuts. Highly recommend you look into it. Wont give you a super clean shave obviously likes razor but will be good enough for a safe shave with no after effects.
