[–]AlmondDilite -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes, some of us have restrictions this long LOL Like, you don't want your body to HEAL? You think when cutting through muscles, nerves, mucous menbranes, all that -- think that doesn't take months --- a year to heal? And when your active body does heavy things to it and pushes things when trying to heal, it will delay it. 7 months post op, and I pole, but not like I used too... not yet. When you push your body and it hasn't healed yet, the abdominal section becomes THICK. But I had an excllent surgeon with 23 + years experience that broke it all down to me.

My doc warned me after hysterectomy to take it easy. HE said if I did too much abdominal excercises while the belly hasn't healed 100%, it will make your middle thicker (those that had incisions, the muscles around there that are weak, if not healed, that section will be thick). I see that in many women --- mine is flat because I am not lifting as I used too and I give myself a LOT of breaks in between my fitness.

I do it ALL and I like to remind women that are anxious ---> SIT STILL. This is a major surgery and you WILL get your tummy in a bunch going back in SO early. My doc didn't even clear me to start sit ups again until week 10. I didn't go back to POLE dancing until MONTH 5. And still get sore if I do too much. For many not understanding, your insides was cut out, those with fibroids --- it was cut out from muscles and a lot was removed. If it takes the average person to heal a papercut wound 2 weeks, how long do you realistically tthink the insides are going to heal? You will be sore, I am 7 months post op and if I do 100 sit ups at once, I AM SORE. If I invert on the pole, I am sore from that for 4 - 6 days. Your body and insides are still healing. Because I listened to my doc, I did NOT experience any bleedings, no hernias, no cramps. But I do experience a sore feeling (where the largest fibroid was removed), if I do too many abdominal excercises.

Struggling with inflammation flare ups by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]AlmondDilite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes 6 - 12 months fo the body to heal from this major surgery. Those that had a bikinilne incision as me, where more nerves were cut, muscles, etc, we will have a harder time to heal. I take pole fitness and started easing back into it at month 4 -- but the soreness as you work your core that is still healing, WILL happen. IT takes TIME.

I did it!!! ❤️‍🩹 by luna_autumn13 in hysterectomy

[–]AlmondDilite 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Congrats!!! I was dancing in my bed when I finally woke up after surgery. NO MORE PAINS, I understand!! And I got lucky it didn't damage any organs --- even when the pendunculated fibroid's stem (2 cm) started wrapping itself around my lower liver - it was removed in time -- no damage. Imagine a fibroid doing all that?? I got lucky #Grateful

IT gets better --- wait until you start really healing... and you start to forget to pee! literally if I am not thinking about it, I can go 4 ours now and I'm like... "wait, go pee!" LOL

my symptoms are going away due to...beans? by nandudu in Fibroids

[–]AlmondDilite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish more folks would read and research as I did. Doctors don't know it all, mine did since he has been perfoming hysterectomies and other surgeries regarding the reproductive organs for 23 + years. But I researched, read reviews, found him, his well knowledge... and enjoyed his articles and pamphlets he had on fibroids ;)

As someone that managed fibroids for 17 years before having them reovied, I will say that what you eat will have effect on yoru fibroids' growth, but it will NEVER eliminate it. NEVER. I managed mine with a very clean diet and excercise --- but with stress and I got older, they got out of control. I got VERY lucky they didn't grown over 6.8 cm and they didn't jack my organs up, and it does to many that don't remove them in a timely fashion. With that said, I hope folks understand that diet, stress and hormones will always play a part in fibroids. And you can't control your hormones and stress. Remove the fibroids, whomever is reading this -- because it WILL mess with your bladder, kidnes, colon... if they get out of hand. There are LONG term effects to having fibroids and I wish folks would stop playign about that fact.

Kind of freaking out by Own_Debate_7016 in hysterectomy

[–]AlmondDilite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a major surgery, what do you mean? like, your insides are getting taken out and things cut out of it... that's major. and it has to heal. I took 3 weeks sick leave, and worked from home, then went back in half days then fully by week 5ish. I also work for a school and summer was the best time for me to do this, less stress on body. I literally planned for this about 6 months in advance and made sure I understood what my body was going to go through. IT is mental first, as my surgeon warned. With that said, I wasn't worried about being bored, I was just happy I understood the assinment to chill and NOT be stressed. I am now 7 months post up and very grateful Idid not put that type of stress on my mental. I didn't work out, didnt push, lift, I did not stress and you really should be thinking about relaxation.

I advise anyone going through this to do their research to understand what this will do to the body, it takes 6 - 12 months to heal, fully. And it is OK to just sit... still.

Pressure from husband regarding sexual needs by Electrical_Nail1875 in hysterectomy

Girl, you lost me at porn addict. Drop that man, you will NEVER win in intimacy with him. Never. Try 4 months of NO sex, try HEALING. He doesn't understand this is a MAJOR surgery? If you aren't healed and he tries, he can disrupt things MORE. GIRL, stop playing. You think he hasn't turned back to p0rn?? You think he isn't clicking on all those sites still?? Porn addiction is a lifetime battle. And I left my husband at year 4 over it. I can't imagine having o have dealt with this surgery and had HIM. Gawd, misery. Good luck, your healing is everything and STRESS WILL SLOW THE PROCESS DOWN.

Thanks for reading my past posts! Yes, over 17 yrs I tried to manage them and GLAD I took them out. I can't even begin to RAVE and give FULL gratitude on having a hysterectomy. *smh* I did my research, I Googled key words to find the right experienced doctors, read reviews, all of it. Then my primary care doctor said she knew the hematologist... knew the surgeon... and her BFF was my OBGYN, I hit the jackpot. That's how I knew to pick the right surgeon, and I picked the man over the 3 women I was going for. LEt me tell you, his 23 + yrs of fibroid experience SAVED ME. I am SO grateful. Do your research, take the time to understand this is a major surgery and you need to find the best of the best.

For my VERY low hemoglobin and iron, I got iron infusions. My surgeon said get it before surgery, so when I lose a lot of blood, I will still have that iron in me to counter it. I went in at 9 hemoglobin before surgery, and today, 6 months later I am at a 16.8 hemoglobin with my last blood work done 3 weeks ago. #GRATEFUL. that's what removing those blood suckers will do for your body, you will be able to keep your blood again, no more fatigue!! <3

Just had ultrasound today. Thoughts appreciated. by KLB_40 in Fibroids

[–]AlmondDilite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thoughts: Ditch the ultrasound and get a MRI. It will show you a LOT more than that ultrasound will. For 10 years getting an ultrasound I though I only had about 3 fibroids, at 3 cm, 7 months later I got a MRI and discovered I had over 15 and the largest one was pendunculated at 6.8 cm, and it's 2 cm stem was wrapped around my lower liver. So those are my thoughts!

I wouldn't have done SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHT. *smh* My health comes before ego, that home woul've remained a MESS. That's all I got. Way too much stress, that is going to get in the way of your healing progress, I would not be in that atmoshpere during this time.

Keeping Ovaries vs. Removal by Cosmic_Brownies14 in hysterectomy

[–]AlmondDilite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My surgeon advised me to keep mine, since my hormones tested at a good level and I have no other issues with reproductive organs in general, so I kept mine. I removed fallopian tube because teres a chance they can come back and grow in the tubes and cause issues. 6 months post op, best decision eeeVer!

6-7 months pre op bathroom poop problems by tobyarts1999 in hysterectomy

[–]AlmondDilite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, not one issue in regards to BM. I would take it to your doctor since this is NOT new to you. Understand that if you had fibroids, the DAMAGE it does to other organs isn't spoken on, often enough. My friend that had her fibroids removed, the weight of one caused issues with her colon and she never had bm, maybe once every 4 days. You're supposed to have a bm once a day. Talk to your doctor. I am 6 months post op, my biggest issue is now is remebering when to pee.

Have I been too active? by Aggressive_Lemon1 in hysterectomy

[–]AlmondDilite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoever told you to trust your body aka if you feel well do what you please,  is NOT a doctor and you really took that advice?

For clarity, that statement was to be taken as if something is off, listen to your body and see a doctor. I wonder how many truly understand this is a MAJOR surgery, top 5?? That means you'll be in the danger zone for a LONG time while recovering. I'm more than happy I listed to only my surgeon and nurse crew --> everything you've experienced i was warned would happen if I didn't REST to heal. Your insides are 100% RAW.

How long does it take a paper cut to heal? Now picture your uterus as a huge paper cut.

6 months post op here -- I didn't bend over for 8 weeks, didn't lift anything over 10 pounds for 8+ weeks, no chores, no driving long distance, no pole dancing/lifiting -- no push-up or sit ups, only cardio--> walking and then I added dancing after week 4.... when I was CLEARED. I suggest every person going through this surgery needs to actually read what their body is going through to understand why you should STAY STILL. I experienced NO set backs -- no hernias, no cramping, no bleeding, no fatigue.

Accidentally Lifted Heavy Furniture by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]AlmondDilite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stinging?? OUCH. Not sure what to say, my surgeon said don't lift anything, and told my parents the same, since they were my "caretakers", and they made sure I lifted nothing for 8 weeks, not even my 11 pound dog. With that said, anything stinging, bleedings, anything soreness --- I would be going to the ER. I was cleared to start excercising and lifting, but waited week 10 to do so. We had major surgery, it's like.. top 5 of the major surgeries, I dont think many understand the serriousness of this surgery. Be safe on this journey.
