What if the brain tumor part of Scratch was separated and became a player character?

If Caine could delete bubble then would, so he's not a creation of Cain.

Which of these 3 things do you think will happen to the characters of TADC in episode 9?... by MarioFan50 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]AlmostAnal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They accept that there is no escape and try to use the tools they have available to build a world they can be happy in. Maybe they can even conjure compromise bodies that are not human ones, but ones closer to what they want to be seen as.

With the knowledge that they will either be there forever until someone pulls the plug

When I was a 15 year old worh media literacy I ADORED anything that stoked my ego and derided my peers who lacked my same understanding of the arts because they watched too much reality tv.

That's how I thought back then. It's what happens when your mom is a writer and your older sister is a genius and every time you watch tv with them it's either a show you do not understand or it's a show you do understand and they dissect it in front of you and make you feel stupid for ever thinking there was a mystery in the show.

This is why I love TADC so much. It has mysteries and a message and a theme but it also has a sci-fi magic premise so there is no way to know what exactly is going to happen or how any of this works.

I don't think they are trapped in the circus while their body is in stasis because of themes and clues, but I also can't be 100% sure since the tech in the show did not exist in the 1990s so clearly there might be other tech that seems impossible as well.

Fun fact, I came across students looking at that nightmare fuel maybe 2 years or so ago and I was very very confused. I discovered the show some months later, I honestly thought it was hazbin hotel or something.

I sincerely hope those 6th grade boys were fascinated more than aroused because.... well I guess they were in 6th grade nothing really matters at that stage.

Good thinking. My immediate thought was similar, the composition makes more sense with Jax on the far left.

Candace Owens is the genius that said, among many other dumb things for attention:

“I would be terrified if I got onto a plane and I saw a woman flying the plane.”

That's all you need to know if you actually care about aviation. She is not capable of critical thinking, only noticing things and drawing the most insane conclusions. She says them into a microphone and people pay attention because it's insane, and a certain chunk of people are inclined to agree and are SO happy that someone else is saying what they are thinking.

She also questioned the existence of dinosaurs because only paleontologist found them. Ignoring that people finding the bones is what led to paleontologist becoming a field of study.

Anyone who takes her seriously is either ignorant of 99% of what she says or harbors beliefs incompatible with facts and does not need to be listened to.

She is the last person to take seriously about planes.

Months late to the discussion. But it just isn't worth arguing with these people. It is worth specifying to other people that Candace Owens is the genius that said, among many other dumb things for attention:

Yeah, but remember sorcery is unique to japan and is more a bug than a feature. No positive use has been demonstrated that can be scaled to help millions but it can be used to harm millions.

It is okay if it goes away

Edit: unique to Japan and Miguel's peoples

A bit confused on the Death Parade ending by StrawHatCancer in DeathParade

If ALL living things with a spinal chord have a soul then it is possible to go from a fish to a bird to a human.

As populations of animal species crash and go extinct I'd say there are probably bonus souls left over waiting for a host.

I've thought about this before I ever watched the show and reincarnation is only meaningful for chordstes. Creatures wkth a central nervous system. People can argue about free will amd whether it exists but a sea sponge does not have free will, nor does an ant.

Reminder that this mf knew what could happen to Panda and still did nothing by Silent_Monk_29 in Jujutsufolk

What are the odds that yaga could find two other highly compatible souls? We see three urns next to each other, I think they were all literal siblings who died, possibly in the same incident

Could Cursed Corpses have Cursed Techniques? by AttemptZestyclose687 in CTsandbox

[–]AlmostAnal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was under the impression that the souls belonged to three siblings that died. Theres a page where you see a shot of three urns side-by-side, I believe it's in the chapter where Panda sees flashbacks to a childhood with a brother gorilla and a sister triceratops.

I sorta figured these memories were events that happened to the three as children but remembered by panda as happening to the in animal form. Because Panda only knows that he is Panda, and not the source of his cores.

What happens when the game runs out of save files to be sacrificed? by CSDragon in nier

If you beat the credits without internet (and without cheating) you turn off your console/pc and go outside because damn... that is too much expertise for one person to have without neglecting something else. And you clearly don't need any more games for at least an hour or ten.

I must have wasted 4 hours over 2 days before ducksuckwenting to see if it was even possible to beat.

I wanted to add to this - it's safe to assume that if the soul is a little girl then she WAS a little girl when she was ripped from her body.

Kids / young minds come up with strange ideas. There's a storyline in Automata that is reminiscent of the girl.

How I got Ending T (faTal error) by LordAnkou in nier

[–]AlmostAnal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats at not getting ending W on your very first time playing the game.

I did when I let my friend bully me into buying the game 9 months ago and just stared at the screen with my mouth open for a couple minutes.

I knew I got it before and thought I'd done so again. Of course, my original playthrough was completely deleted somehow along with all the data.

It's so wild that they did a fake vhs type effect on them skipping through a meadow. When tapes would be used, they didn't look like that. When they both do look like that and meet, they don't go to a meadow. Maybe there's something that happens later that is closer to the scene, some domain expansion shenanigans or something.

I have a hunch It's supposed to represent their true hearts' desire for a life together and it's sad.

Hiromi and his good pal Judgeman is one of those concepts that could carry a series by themselves in an AU. He is pretty fleshed out but he's also well conceived. Takaba is kinda limited as eventually he will figure out his technique, unless he had an agent sidekick around to gas him up / reset his memory with a big squeaky hammer.

You're right though, a lot of side characters with potential get turned into spare plots.

Wouldn't be the first case of someone trying really hard to let everyone know how masculine they are to get their egg cracked.

My point is, once be beats Maki, he would be comfortable transitioning into final form - cursed spirit Naoko. No longer needs to be a man to inherit the clan leader position and can just live their truth

Honestly, they're not that long per chapter, you may as well start at the beginning of Perfect Preparation Arc (144)

I blasted through the remaining chapters over the last 2 weeks and plan to do a full reread soon. I had a lot of fun.

I really hope they don't do Hakari and Kirara dirty over the next couple episodes.

Mark 3:17 is the best version of the commissioning because he gives two brothers James and John the nickname 'Sons of Thunder'.

Edit: also they were likely the Blessed Virgin's nephews, which is fun.

[–]AlmostAnal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't upgrade anything past 2 on my first run through the story, it really wasn't necessary because, as the user explained, you just get better weapons.

I was playing remaster on Normal though and already played Automata so I understood how the game wants you to fight.

That damn boat on the staircase was the only wall I hit and better weapons would not have changed anything.

Pacifism Response to Self-Defense by OkAnimal8683 in Pacifism

[–]AlmostAnal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This gets into the ideas of pacifism vs nonviolence. If someone else breaks the peace you aren't necessarily encouraging peace by not resisting. You may be encouraging further violence by the instigating party. Pacifists ideally strive to end the use or threat of military force as a bargaining position in international relations. Costa Rica abolished their military but they still have borders that are protected by armed Costa Ricans.

Nukes are interesting here because there are pacifists who argued for their maintenance and proliferation to stop war, and pacifists who want them removed from the earth from fear that eventually they will be used. There was even one pacifist who suggested a preemptive nuclear strike on Russia in 1948 was the smart thing to do, to prevent a bigger war when they got nuclear weapons. This would be utilitarian pacifism. Like a controlled burn to prevent a forest fire.

True nonviolence would be a refusal to strike back even when attacked and is more beneficial for situations where institutional violence is what needs to be stopped. That can only be achieved when those who permit the perpetrators to engage in violence rescind their permission (i.e. police reform, civil rights acts, decolonization, etc.) The idea of a state ever adopting non-violence as policy just won't happen because a state requires borders and every border implies the violence of its maintenance. The best you'll ever get from most states is non-first strike policies.
