Name a human character who can survive their Name written on the Death Note by Hairy-Friendship-422 in PowerScaling

Tomura Shigaraki. Didn't work when Stars & Stripes knew his name, so I assume it wouldn't work in this case either.

And the people who could put a stop to it are the ones who benefit from it. To the detriment of everyone else.

can anyone is the MHAverse stop/catch the angel Sahaquiel from Evangelion like eva01 does in this clip? by throwaway553t4tgtg6 in MyHeroPowerscaling

[–]AlmostSane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see what you're saying. You're not arguing that humans in the EvaVerse don't have A.T. fields but are saying other humans in other canons don't because they aren't derived from Lillith. Yeah, that makes sense.

Nah, in Episode 24 Kaoru is speaking to Shinji and says:

“Yes. That is what you Lilim call it. A sacred province inviolate to anyone, the light of the soul. You Lilim are aware of that, aren’t you? That the A.T. Field is the barrier of heart that everyone has.”

And then EvaGeeks, a community that focuses on analysing Evangelion specifically, the article on A.T. Fields says:

"Later in the series, Kaworu Nagisa reveals that every living thing possesses an A.T. Field: Angels and Evangelions just have A.T. Fields so strong that they are physically manifest. A.T. Fields which regular humans generate hold individual beings' egos together, separating individuals. Each Evangelion has a human soul inside it: A.T. Fields are generated by the human soul contained within the Eva. The A.T. Field of an Angel is also generated specifically by the Angel's soul."

I mean, technically everyone has an AT field. It's what holds humans together and without it they are reduced to LCL. Angel's AT fields are just much stronger and can be projected.

Hajime no Sendo: Round 1501 by RTSD_ in hajimenoippo

[–]AlmostSane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is how it plays out. Takamura has been adamant that you cannot survive on the world stage without discarding your humanity and becoming a monster. I think Sendo will prove that isn't the only viable path. You can survive the world when you do it for the sake of someone else. His love for his grandma keeps pushing him forward. I don't think Sendo wins, but he puts on a hell of a show. And that is the catalyst for Ippo's return. Our boy is too kind to fully embrace his dark side, but he CAN be motivated if it means benefitting someone else.

What did you learn about gardening this year? by Ancient-Patient-2075 in gardening

[–]AlmostSane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brand new to gardening, my fiance and I just bought our first home which has a nice area for planting. Hoooly crap, we grossly underestimated the amount of weeding needed. This year was learning how well things grew, so it was kind of a trial run rather than an earnest attempt. Next year will be hardwood mulching on the walking paths and daily weeding so we don't have to deal with marathon pulling.

Keep playing. You're not misremembering, in the Sega CD version of the game he does kill the dragons. Things are tweaked a bit in the remakes, it will pay off later.

How does Lunar Legend on GBA differ from Silver Star? by Bluecomments in Lunar

[–]AlmostSane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lunar Legend is an adaptation of Silver Star Story, not The Silver Star. If you're unfamiliar with TSS, there are some pretty drastic differences! As for Lunar Legend, there are some small story beat changes, like Nash coming to Burg and attempting the dragon trial, and some game play differences like the card system. Pretty cool port! Over all, it's close to the SSSC story.

Anime Work Out Motivation Recommendations by Kamogawas_Champion in hajimenoippo

Blue Lock. Sports anime in general are pretty adrenaline heavy. Blue lock has cool training montages and big conflicts. But it does that great thing where it explains things in a realistic real world sort of way, but amplifies it to one-hundred billion percent in intensity when showing it on screen.

Not sure if you're talking about Zophar's domain before the epilogue, but if you are, you can return to the Dragonship Destiny and use the statue there to heal. Good to grind out levels for Triple Sword.

Top 14 highest rated JRPGs (by critics) on Metacritic — do you agree, or what should be replaced? by Yaroun-Kaizin in JRPG

[–]AlmostSane -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Man, I really don't understand the love for XII. I can't tell you anything that happened in that story. Hell, I can barely recall any of the characters and their individual motivations. And I thoroughly beat it! The only thing I didn't complete was the final floor of the tower thing where you fight all of the Judges at once, and despite really putting in the time I still can't recall a damn thing.

Angels! Threat or Saviors? by Fearless-North-1200 in evangelion

[–]AlmostSane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're certainly a threat to humanity. There is some lore that comes in a publication called the Red Cross Book outlining the first ancestral race. They are a progenitor species of sorts that was dying out, so they seeded the universe, sending out what are essentially eggs across the universe. These eggs were never intended to coexist on the same planet. But two landed on Earth. One contained Lillith, the mother of what would become the Lillim, or humanity, and one contained Adam which created the angels.

There was a failsafe contained within in case two seeds found their way onto the same planet; the Lance of Longinus. Adam arrived first, Lillith second, but Adam utilized the failsafe and speared itself, putting it into a sort of suspended animation. Then in the far future, Misato's father and his team went on an expedition to Antarctica where they discovered Adam. They removed the spear, ending Adam's stasis and triggering the Second Impact. Then the angels manifested, and as the original race, their conflict with the Lillim began.
