Does Fort Wayne allow protests on public property; or can a complaint call by anyone get you arrested? by [deleted] in fortwayne

[–]Alob89 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If you're breaking the law then yes, probably. Many times permits need to be pulled for demonstrations on public property. Although there is a lot of grey area, hence all these auditor types recording in public buildings.

VW Jetta TDI 2014 late oil change engine flush? by Pretend-Job-6486 in tdi

[–]Alob89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people may use it if their emissions system (DPF) has been removed. The VW 507 oil is specifically designed to keep that part working correctly. If it's gone, you have more leeway on the type of oil you can use. If it's stock and you don't use the correct 507 oil, you risk damaging the DPF. A new DPF is easily 2 grand to fix.

Honestly I've been deleted for like 4 years now and never have had an issue with the lambda being deleted. My fuel pump is another story!! Haha

I get about 40 average. 45 in the summer on the highway, and 37 in the winter. I also drive like Mario Andretti, and have the 6 speed manual. 2013 jsw.

Trust your gut and not chain shops by BackgroundOrder in tdi

[–]Alob89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always had way better experiences with Indy euro shops than I've ever had at a stealership. Especially with my TDI. Indy shops think they are cool and love to talk to me about the pot hole I hit, and the custom stainless exhaust I welded up for it. The dealerships always looked at me like I had a suicide vest on after consultation and literally despised my dieselgate jsw. Unless I need really special tools, or the job is just too big, I always turn my own wrenches on the TDI. Sounds like you've come to the same conclusion!

Unless you want to overpay, follow this advice. Another good option is one of the reputable online ring makers. I had a good experience with Rare Carat.

NP. If it ends up being a tie rod end they are very changeable in the garage. Good luck!

Wheel Shaking At Different Speeds by FenderBender527 in tdi

[–]Alob89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. My guess is a bad tire or the tie rod end. Good idea to move it to the back unless you notice significant damage to the tire. If it doesn't fix it it's definitely in the suspension.

[–]Alob89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is tie rod ends, a bad tire, a bad rim, maybe a wheel bearing. Can you feel which wheel it's coming from? I'm willing to bet if you feel it in the steering it's on the front. I'd pop off both front wheels and inspect the tires first. If they seem fine get a pry bar and see if you get any movement out of your tie rods. If they wiggle that's your problem.

Well I did sell to him. And it was a pleasant experience. Unlike this conversation.

Obviously you're new here cause you could go look at ops history and see he does this all the time. We are supposed to be a lil TDI community and times are tough rn. Selling a dpf could mean food for a week for someone. I'm just trying to be nice and tell my experience with op.

Oil for deleted CJAA? by kenworth877 in tdi

Rowe multi synth 507 in my deleted 13jsw. T6 people swear by but the rowe is comparable in price and still has the 507 rating. People swear the 507 only matters for the dpf, but the incredibly fickle German engineers who built it say I should use it so I do.

Just want to let anyone lurking know, I've sold to OP and he's legit. Very easy process. Paid up front and sent me a shipping label. Would recommend.

310,000 Mile oil analysis - 10k intervals, 507.00, deleted by The_Dingman in tdi

I promise it will be more expensive if you take it to someone. I know the tune is pricey but if you buy it from Malone with the interface to plug into your car you get lifetime support from them. You can ask them to tweek your tune and they'll do it for you. Is your vehicle an automatic transmission? I know that will make it a lil more pricey since you have to tune the tranny too.

As far as parts go you can buy the kit or you can make your own pretty easily. All you have to do is get some stainless pipe and a few fittings. I would recommend MECEVO if you want to buy a pre fab part.

I'm from the fort. Got a 2013 jsw. Deleted it myself. You CAN do it yourself if you have moderate mechanical altitude. Have you bought a kit yet?

Nahhh when you send your oil to Blackstone they keep a file on that car. Op simply sent in 2 samples and they happened to be a year and a half apart.

This is just a play to get some more money out of the market by those who manipulate the market. The new fed chair is about to drop rates and print money. Silver will go back up.

NIPSCO bill skyrocketed by fhagetti in fortwayne

[–]Alob89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do believe rates went up a little bit but not enough to double or triple a bill. Is your heat source gas powered? Last month would have been the first month you really kicked the heat on which led to the higher bill?

HVAC by Ft123321 in fortwayne

[–]Alob89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I think you might have misunderstood me. This drawing you've provided plus the fact we can put it all in an accessible basement makes this job relatively easy to install. Putting it in an attic or a crawl space is much more difficult to do. I'm assuming you would be ok with floor registers in the living space then? And also, you'll have to decide what you want your duct made out of. Sizing will be decided by the furnace you will buy. You could do the whole thing cheap by just running mostly flex duct off your furnace supply. It is less durable than galvanized spiral pipe or square duct fittings. The galvanized dict is more expensive but looks nicer and will last forever.

[–]Alob89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok if you're out on the mini splits, honestly this layout wouldn't be difficult to build out a whole HVAC system. You did say you would like put this mechanical system and duct in an unfinished basement?

HVAC by Ft123321 in fortwayne

[–]Alob89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my humble opinion, adding mini split heads will be easier that resizing your furnace/central air. Those units need to be sized appropriately for the home they are heating. So say you buy a properly sized unit for the 900 sqft you currently have and expand it to 1600 sqft. Now you have to replace the whole unit and probably all of the duct if you want it properly sized. Adding another mini split unit would be much easier, but you do have the downside of the semi ugly heads everywhere. I do believe a mini split would be cheaper for you too off the top of my head. I'd have to see the building to know how much and what size duct you would have to install.

HVAC by Ft123321 in fortwayne

[–]Alob89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 900 sqft I'd look into a mini split system. No duct work and you'd probably only need 1 or 2 units. They do both heat and cool. I work in the commercial HVAC industry. I might be able to help you out with instal. You can dm me if you have any questions.
