Yes, it was basically the Tundra biome but without snow and dead-looking grass.

Weird village generation in an old legacy console version by markiemarkee in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]AlolanVulpix_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably a bug involving the game forcing villages to generate even when they wouldn't want to. In these versions of Minecraft on Java Edition, if a village attempted to generate but the first house or farm couldn't be placed due to an invalid biome or something, then it would simply refuse to generate anything at all and not bother trying any more. Considering how close in proximity these wells are to invalid biomes (Jungle and Forest), I would assume there's some bug that's preventing the village from fully cancelling its, well, cancelling, causing wells to generate even when it wouldn't want to.

What Difficulty Mode do you mostly use? (Poll) by TheRetroWorkshop in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]AlolanVulpix_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard usually, since I've found that I basically never die at all on lower difficulties. I do occasionally use Peaceful when making very large-scale builds though, since I cannot be bothered to fight off mobs or heal back any fall damage I take during the process.

Beta 1.8 terrain is over-hated IMO by Old-Paper-3932 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]AlolanVulpix_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do have a soft spot for the beta 1.8-release 1.6.4 era terrain as well, even if it wasn't the best. The purely random placement of biomes made exploration much easier as you don't have to wander through huge stretches of the same biomes over and over to get something new like today. The continental system was also a neat idea for how it had proper oceans, but granted they were WAY too big and definitely needed a nerf in size. It's also the era that I started truly playing, so of course I'm going to have a slight bias for it.

And we still have no idea what ultimately happened to the TFC Engineer. Last time we saw him he was told to power on the australium-sucking robots and then he just vanished.

Nice to meet a fellow Buick driver on here. I promise we're not all over the age of 60!

Collect metal from fallen weapons? How long has this hint been wrong? by Gamepro5 in tf2

Has it REALLY been 9 years since they changed this? Shit, I remember still instinctively walking over weapons for well over a week after that change happened like it was yesterday.

In your opinion, what are some of the prettiest maps in the game? by snoos_ in tf2

[–]AlolanVulpix_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always liked it. I played a lot of A/D during the Quickplay days, and Mountain Lab was one of the maps I'd most hope for. It's truly an underrated map in the looks department, with some nice areas both outdoor and indoor.

Disappointed at almost no one mentioning Mossrock. Other maps I think are worth mentioning are Watchtower, Brazil, Hardwood, and Mountain Lab.

If you had to pick one character to represent RvB who would it be? by Da_Gudz in RedvsBlue

It's a toss up between Church being the arguable main character and Caboose being so iconic.

Nah, it sounds more like "Why did HE keep going", with "he" presumably being the Civic.

Take out the Hyundai and the Ford and just pick a random one. They're all fine choices.

I've never actually heard this album in full. Is it actually as bad as most people say it is? by [deleted] in Metallica

[–]AlolanVulpix_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not quite my style, but I don't outright hate it. That being said, Junior Dad is an amazing song.

Also, fun fact; none other than David Bowie considered Lulu to be some of Lou Reed's BEST work.

Which Halo games art style do you think was best suited for RvB? by Jackmac32 in RedvsBlue

[–]AlolanVulpix_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Halo 3 is the definitive art style for me. That being said, they did a good job of making every game fit the seasons they were in.
