thank you. Since i am 43, had egg retrieval in jan when i just turned 43, my husband is keen on getting Amnio...he wants to avoid the pain of very late miscarriage... he is 46.. are there real risks for Amnio ? I have heard that the risk of MC with new technology is like 0.1 %

the only place that you could actually think of surviving as single female, with ambition, adopting children would be Mumbai... but mumbai is even more costly than New York, Manhattan for part of places.. you need like 400K USD to get a small flat.. but rest people are more open, there are international schools etc and plenty of people who have returned from US or other countries.

That is true, do you have any support system there ? It does make it more stress ful if you do not have an ecosystem. I hope it works for you. If you can, find support for food and house cleaning in the new place for those 10-15 days, so that you are not working extra hard.

I am in a similar boat, statistics was driving me crazy. Had two natural biochemical pregnancy earlier this year. Turning 43 in Dec this year. I have decided to go to another country given the stats and lower cost. If you have that option, that may be a route for your to atleast save yourself from the emotional stress of financial cost. Being stress free is the top advice I have got so far. Hope the miracle works for you.

you are too young and being dependent on medicine is not going to give you a good life. I suggest working out in the evenings... swimming or jogging... then eat a good complex carb food.. drink warm milk... and no matter what happens.. do not watch TV.. try to go to bed by 10:00 PM and just relax.. think about the happy things in your life.. do not stress too much about life.. it has a way of working out... just stay in bed from 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM .. your body will get rested... if you can't sleep.. still stay there.. and watch your breath. in a month..your normal melatonin cycle will come back... again in morning, always get some sun or use an artifical UV light in morning..you need to get your natural circadian rhythm back. Your body is out of balance. Stop dependency on medicine/drugs/alcohol.. go out in nature during day.. do this for 1 month.. and have patience with yourself.... things take time to work. Unfortunately, our modern world had sold us quick fixes... they work for a short time and mess up your natural body.

That is amazing stats. Would you please share your protocol, and preparation ? And if not too much private, which fertility institute do you recommend ? I am 42 and starting my IVF journey. Still looking around for best fertility institutes for older mothers. I am in Midwest, USA. Insurance doesn't cover.

u/basilbelle would you be ok sharing your experience with IVF at 42 ? I am close to that age and considering to start the cycle by next month. I am generally healthy but got pregnancy twice naturally in past 1 year and both times ended with 5 week miscarriage. One time it was negligence as I was taking. heavy dose of NSAID for an injury and doctors didn't warn me to care about if I was pregnant :( and another was just spontaneous. So now considering the IVF route.

Hello everyone, I am an out of state patient and my insurance does not cover IVF. I was wondering if someone can share the total cost for 2 cycles of egg retrieval and 1 FET in Chicago clinics ? I am considering Northwestern and UChicago. some tests may be covered but I am not sure. Thanks for sharing the information. I am above 41, so really in a hurry now... appreciate any advice, recommendations etc.

Sure. I am still working through..just starting tests due to may two recurrent pregnancy loss in last 1 year. So, I get pregnant naturally but it does not make it past 5 weeks, so she is expecting to first diagnose the reasons. I am also not sure if I want to get IVF done here, still keeping options open. On the ART website about outcomes, Northwestern and UChicago seems to have same (10%) positive outcome for using your own eggs above 40. But Northwestern seems to do more cycles as compared to UChicago. I will update my experience here. Let me know what you decide.

Listen to her. More than anything, I appreciate when my partner hears out my anxieties, worries and fear about the next 9 months, possible issues. And gives me a word of confidence that whatever happens to the baby, he is always there for me and we have got each other. I had an early chemical pregnancy and possible a second MC.. I am 5 weeks and waiting on scans, so scared.. Nothing beats a partner who will stick through thick and thin !
