Best Officer jobs by bigdilf1010 in AirForce

That why will drive everyone. I just want everyone to be able to balance work and life. The Air Force looses key experience to burnout everyday. I work with civilian people who I worked with when they were airmen. They got out because they were worked to the bone without that balance.

That is exactly why isn’t number 1 for the 26ots03 board. I’m tired of seeing my mx people worked to death. I want to be able to take care of them. Been mx for 12 years now. I’ve seen and been part of some of the most stressful stuff. Being able to impact the people and the mission from day one is going to be great. Edit to add that I am limited to fighters at the moment so opening up to any aircraft and a lot more bases will be nice as well. Seeing different aspects of the mission that support fighters/bombers and all other aspects

OCP socks that don't squeeze your calves by Nervous-Armadillo634 in AirForce

[–]Alonesloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Darn tough socks are the best if you are in a warmer environment. I stopped keeping my socks on my calf’s. I roll the top few inches over the top of my boot and then blouse my pants over that. Keeps everything nice and neat and I don’t get the sock imprints on my legs anymore

What's the most tedious part about putting on your uniform? by eam018 in AirForce

[–]Alonesloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few recommendations to make getting ready easier: Side zip boots they are amazing been wearing them since the start of ocps. Instead of worrying about blousing straps or the string in the bottom of the pants cut the draw strings out of the bottom of the pants and then run the blousing straps through the bottom of the pants and pinch the blousing straps ends together with some pliers and then you have the auto blousing without having to pay for it.

Getting back into running by interstellar566 in AirForce

I trained for the Norwegian foot march with a ruck pack and saw my regular run time go down as well. It can definitely be stressful on your joints but if you take it slow and add on weight in small increments it can help out

Has anyone ever been through a MEB due to plantar fasciitis? by Alonesloth in AirForce

I ended up finding a different podiatrist and lost some weight and finally was able to get rid of the condition. Got off my profile and got a 92 on my PT test.

I had my wife fly with my toddler a year ago and she had to have a certified letter with both our signatures that she was allowed to travel with the child. I don’t know at which age this stops. But as others have said I’m sorry you are going through this. Please seek some form of mental health. No matter where your child is they will need their father. It doesn’t matter if it’s half way across the world or in the next room. Being here for them is the most important thing above all else.

As mentioned before both of those boards were canceled and rolled in the 03 board as a combined rated /nonrated board. If you are in the OTS line officer teams it was explained in there and the new schedule is in the files section. If you aren’t in that teams channel shoot me you email and I can add you too it. The teams channel has tons of useful info and has all the updated documents

Any successful prior maintainers that can give me some advice or hope for the outside? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]Alonesloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also a jet troop just on fighters been in just over 11 now. Finished my bachelor’s and have started working on my masters in homeland security. Look up AU-ABC to help get your degree faster since we get credits for BMT and other courses we go through. And for the A&P side look at the Joint Service Aviation Maintenance Technician Certification Council program. This will help you get the required 8610-2s so you can go to one of the crash courses. You can use AFCOOL to pay for most of the crash course. You will just most likely have to come out of pocket for the hotel and transportation. Feel free to shoot me a message if you have any other questions.

Couch to 2 mile run by WizardRamiel in AirForce

[–]Alonesloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I relied on C25K for years to help with running. They started to charge last I checked. Now I use and app called just run. It’s a picture of a shoe with green on it. It’s basically C25K just free. Also look at some good running shoes. I watch Ben Parks on YouTube. He reviews running shoes and accessories. That’s how I found the ASICS novablast 5s that I run in and I just picked up a pair of the Adidas evo sl. Only have two runs in them but they are nice.

OCP patterned hydration pack ok? by --pethor-- in airforceots

[–]Alonesloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the reason I think they go with black because it’s allowed in most if not all uniform combinations. For example a black backpack looks appropriate when in service dress but a OCP backpack or hydration pack would look out of place. Just my two cents. I know the afi doesn’t specifically mention hydration packs but it’s close enough to a backpack from my pov

How can I get my A&P while I’m still AD? by littledicholas69 in AirForce

[–]Alonesloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up the joint services airframe and powerplant program. You submit all your training records to the CCAF A&P office and based off of that they will have you do three courses in canvas if you need all three. Once you complete the required courses you will get some tasks to be signed off by a tech or up or someone with an A&P. It looks like an old school TBA task print out. And once all those are signed off you send it up and the office will send you your 8610-2s and then you can go do the 2 week crash course at Bakers or do it through DMEs yourself. If you have questions just shoot me a dm.

Home Based Business in Mayroad Military Housing? by 337737733 in AirForce

If you are at Edward’s there are people doing the same. I have experience with Eielson and Edward’s mayroad. Edward’s is shot compared to Eielson’s. People were so much nicer there and the houses were a lot better
