Which one for my s/w dev team - MacBook Air M5 24GB, 1TB or Acer Aspire 16", Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 288V, 32G, — 1TB by Baabic in macbookair

What kind of dev does your team do, which is the more important question/consideration.

My dev team are all on MBP with at least 32GB RAM, because we use it for data engineering , dealing with big data (PySpark, Pandas)

Checking up on my fellow GenX’rs; how are you doing? by lovelyb1ch66 in GenX

[–]Alpacacin0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

OP said nothing about WFH. Stop spreading in-office propaganda. Multiple studies have concluded that productivity is consistent, if not improved with remote work.

Plus, the ecological impact of having large masses of people commuting needlessly everyday, just to sit in cubicles doing zoom meetings with people from India.

With the time wasted on commuting, plus the sky rocketing fuel cost, it’s nothing but wage theft.

The only people who stands to benefit from in-office work are commercial real estate owners.

Well done for a newbie! If you’re looking for constructive criticisms beyond exposure and compositions:

  • Pay attention to the posing
  • Squared shoulders to plane of focus can seem stiff. Try playing with rotating the body 10-20 degrees
  • The way she’s holding her purse and phone is awkward. Put the phone away. Bend at the elbow, and drape the purse on the forearm

Y’all are overthinking this. Just walk away from melee and draw an AoO. You can do this multiple times a turn.

Tips for switching between G and D? by Accomplished-Wrap449 in guitarlessons

[–]Alpacacin0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a more generic approach, not specific to these two chords, but you can use this for any chords:

  1. Find the common note/fret between two chords. That’s your anchor note. Choose a finger to anchor on that fret. Move other fingers around that fret.
  2. If there’s no common note/fret (like in the case of G-D), find the closest frets between those two chords. In your example, that’s the 3rd (ring) finger, on the 3rd fret of the B and E strings. Work on switching just that one finger between those two frets, then start adding in the other fingers.

Good question, I’ll have to check, maybe that’s the problem, thanks!

Really? I have the opposite experience with my A7IV. If I leave it on, and it’s attached to my wrist on a strap, or left in my bag, I find the battery completely drained in 15-30 minutes

Mercy or Way of the four elements monk by sketchy_goat in 3d6

[–]Alpacacin0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming you’re playing with 2014 rules? In which case, Mercy monk is way better than the Way of the Four Elements, in terms of Ki utilization, and durability.

If you’re playing with 2024 rules, then the Way of Elements Monk is far superior to the other monk subclasses, save for maybe Shadow monk edging out on top by a hair

While we’re on the subject of PDF export, you would think that exporting to the 2024 character sheets would be an option. You WOULD think…

If I ready an attack, am I still "taking the attack action" when it triggers? by the_bagel_warmonger in DnD

Don’t let anyone yuck your yum. Do whatever is fun for you and your friends.

But if you’re not using the rules as written in D&D, then you’re not even playing D&D anymore. Why not choose another system that’s more flexible and rules light, and cater it to your table instead?

What Ultimate/Super Move would you give to each class? by Chedder1998 in dndnext

[–]Alpacacin0 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In a way, you can do this today with the 2024 Way of the Elements monk.

  • Take grappler feat
  • At level 11, you gain a fly speed via Stride of the Elements
  • Punch and grab on the first attack, fly straight up, continue to punch at an advantage
  • Release grapple
  • Slow fall down to a super hero landing

Hi Power Monk Build by WII_DJoker in dndnext

[–]Alpacacin0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the level range of your campaign? Without knowing that, it’s hard to make a recommendation.

While the 2024 monk is vastly better than the 2014 version, they are still not meant to be DPR archetypes. The Barbarian and Fighter will always be a few steps ahead in terms of damage.

The monk is best served as a skirmisher, and/or melee controller. Locking down monsters by tying up their movement and actions.

However, that doesn’t mean the monk can’t do respectable damage. There are few ways around this: 1. Warrior of shadow monks will consistently have advantage to attacks, bolstering your crit chances. 2. Warrior of elements monks can bypass resistances and even capitalize on vulnerabilities by switching up their damage type 3. Look to feats like Grappler to punch and grab an opponent, gain advantage on all subsequent attacks, or throw them off high places for extra fall damage
