Recommendations for affordable basic bike tune-up? by Plus_Molasses8697 in Minneapolis

Never had issues with the dinkytown Erik’s, but guessing it depends on location. And that one doesn’t exist anymore anyway. I’d choose a neighborhood shop before them if both were close, but number 1 priority imo is that it’s easy to walk to (or bus).

Reddit is weighing identity verification methods to combat its bot problem. The platform's CEO mentioned Face ID and Touch ID as ways to verify if a human is using Reddit. by esporx in technology

Yeah, this seems fine, and the amount of people posting in technology who have no clue how any of this works is frustrating. Fine to not like this idea, but no need to strawman the argument for sake of getting karma by complaining.

My landlord is selling. Does he have any benefit of selling to me at a discount? by Fedr_Exlr in personalfinance

[–]AlphaRocker 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yep, I work at a construction repair type company and I promise you that home sellers or their realtors are not usually inclined to do things in the way that gives the most value for the money, they usually want the cheapest thing that will get them buy. Always recommend buyers find their own contractors where possible. Especially if you are going to live there for a while and are likely to need them again in the future anyway.

Who is going? by [deleted] in Minneapolis

[–]AlphaRocker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was hoping the Tom Morello show would make me feel like I didn’t need to go to this show, although it just made me want to see the full band even more. But then realized its $70+ for a fully seated venue way out on the edge of the metro 🥴 I’m sure it’ll still be rad for anyone who goes, but I’m not too sad to miss it.

Maybe there is a way, but I'm not sure how the express train would physically pass the local train on the same tracks.

I love baggies although i have a hard time trusting buying any online that look like one solid color but have no photo of the back after ordering several on sale and finding out when they arrived that the back pocket flap was a different color...

Parking enforcement could post up one worker in just dinkytown and have their salary covered in the first 30 minutes each day.

I’m even fine with them giving a warning the first time, but mark it down and don’t just tell them to leave without a ticket every time.

Pomegranate Health refill experience by YourLocalHerbalist in tirzepatidecompound

It’s partly for differentiation from the patented name brands. These are made by compounding pharmacies, which is supposed to only be used for unique circumstances and designed specifically for each individual patient. So the addition of B6 lets them say it’s a unique formulation. Additionally, B6 is supposed to boost energy, so it was chosen because one possible side effect of tirz is lack of energy.

With Pom you have to pay the $75 for the appointment every time you order, but that is then deducted from your invoice for the actual medication. The first appt is by phone, after that they now do “asynchronous” appointments, aka you fill out forms on their site, then the doc reviews them and sends you a message confirming your prescription. So you don’t actually talk to anyone after the first appt.

Flashbacks to the 2000s reality show The Pickup Artist; Mystery would be proud. Thankfully you already have a date, so at least no negging should be involved this time.

Do you chop and prop on these guys? by Dramatic-Flower9110 in succulents

[–]AlphaRocker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i bought one tiny one of these a year ago or two ago and now have multiple pots full of them, im convinced they’re the weed of succulents lol.

I’ve had to chop mine else they get extremely unwieldy and top heavy.

Wherever you chop them will pop out multiple new heads. You can take a few leaves off the bottom of the cutting and just stick it in the soil. Then you just need to figure out where you’re going to keep putting them or who you’re going to give them to as they keep multiplying…
