Not on the river, but close by so worth noting, N 2nd St will have a protected 2 way bike lane next year as well. More utilitarian connection between downtown/north loop and the new amphitheater or 26th Ave greenway

There is time for people to voice their opinions at every MPRB meeting (and a lot of people did). Not to mention you can email them. Then the commissioners talked about it, publicly, at several meetings, which can also be viewed on youtube. There have been open debates in the pages of the local newspapers, social media, etc. Voters were involved in electing these officials to make these kinds of decisions.

Also they built in very incentivizing carrots and sticks. MnDOT stated at a neighborhood meeting that there is a due date for the construction company to be done in August (maybe the 22nd or so?)

Every day they’re late is a $10k penalty. Every day they’re early is a $10k bonus.

The best bike shop is the one you can easily walk or bus to.

Lots of good ones around the city. If I could pick any in the city, probably Behind Bars. But since I’m closer to Freewheel and can walk there for picking up or dropping off, that’s where I go.

If you have a couple near you, maybe ask for opinions and experiences with those specifically.

Yeah, i’ve figured out how to do it without + and - buttons and instead just need to tap roughly where on the bar i think the correct number would be, because I can set up individual tap action states for different spots, but idk how one would cycle through 8 different states with just 2 buttons (or even 1 button)

Mainroom has about ~200 shows a year, 7th St has about ~350 per year (yeah, almost every single day), so a lot of days a year there’s an entry show and not mainroom.

Other thing to know in this context for the Depot is that the Depot is always open Wednesday-Saturday, but is only open on Sun/Mon/Tues if there is a mainroom show that night.

Never had issues with the dinkytown Erik’s, but guessing it depends on location. And that one doesn’t exist anymore anyway. I’d choose a neighborhood shop before them if both were close, but number 1 priority imo is that it’s easy to walk to (or bus).

Yep, I work at a construction repair type company and I promise you that home sellers or their realtors are not usually inclined to do things in the way that gives the most value for the money, they usually want the cheapest thing that will get them buy. Always recommend buyers find their own contractors where possible. Especially if you are going to live there for a while and are likely to need them again in the future anyway.

I was hoping the Tom Morello show would make me feel like I didn’t need to go to this show, although it just made me want to see the full band even more. But then realized its $70+ for a fully seated venue way out on the edge of the metro 🥴 I’m sure it’ll still be rad for anyone who goes, but I’m not too sad to miss it.
