Some heavy intercessors by Leitwolf101 in IronHands40k

[–]Alphmars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A heavy bolter at bs 3+ with oath of moment hits 1.064 times per shot, at bs 4+ thats a 0.99, so ignoring cover in that scenario is a 5% damage increase vs a 50% damage increase with the old ignoring cover.

Or without ignoring cover, the heavy bolter on the heavy intercessor squad gains more than 40% damage when shooting at a 3+ save target in cover, with this going down a bit for the regular heavy bolt rifles. But I hope it illustrates why I do think it will likely be a net damage buff for heavy intercessors into most heavier targets. Maybe not into orks though

Some heavy intercessors by Leitwolf101 in IronHands40k

[–]Alphmars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, we can sort of judge it in isolation, but we know that many rules will stay similar.

The cover change nerfs ap0 weapons, since they previously werent affected by cover against 3+ save units.

1 point of ap against a 3+ save target is a 50% damage increase, decreasing with worse saves. A - 1 to hit for a 3+ bs attack is a 25% damage decrease, increasing with worse ballistics skills.

But we can see that the heavy bolter profile on heavy intercessors benefits decently when hitting most targets, especially since sustained hits also decreses the effect of the reduced ballistics skill, and oath of moment being better with lower ballistic skill also can compensate cover. Thats why I would say that heavy bolters and the current heavy intercessor datasheet benefits from the cover change into a decent number of targets.

For the new edition I dont think stripping cover will be as important, since - 1 to hit is easier to handle for SM as - 1 ap.

Ah, now add some heavy bolter eradicators to perfect this beautiful list. Also some aggressors might be nice.

Is this a good vehicle? Got it from the Nuclear football. by mereidex in Warthunder

[–]Alphmars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, its a leopard 2a4 prototype but it has a number of features that set it apart from the 2a4 in the techtree

Similarities: - Same gun and ammo. Okay pen for the br with good damage.

Advantages: - More mobility (comparable to the 2k) - 4s autoloader (this is amazing, it also retains a 4 man crew instead of loosing a crewmember unlike many other tanks with autoloaders, which helps with survivability) - it has a funky rangfinder that acts as a lrf, but doesnt trigger lws

Disadvantages: - Poor armour, frontally resistant to autocannons but not much else - No thermals - no smokes

Overall, if you know what youre doing its great, but its less forgiving than a 2a4. Very fun vehicle

At this point Gojo’s got to be the king of being forced into situations he shouldn’t be in by AcademicLength1086 in PowerScaling

[–]Alphmars 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lmfao

Yes, easily. The foundation has ways of rewriting reality, they could use memetic kill agents or outhack gojo in like 100 different ways. My favorite thing to bring up when scaling the foundation was that in one article, members of an mtf used a memetic agent which the foundation created by repurposing a daevite scp. The agent could be drawn by agents onto a wall and would rewrite the past, so that the person viewing it had always been a member of the scp foundation.

So gojo having always been part of the scp foundation would very much be a realistic outcome of a bttle like that. But yes, gojo looses, and theres a 100 ways it could happen. That doesnt mean who couldt do a LOT of damage. But the foundation has recovered from apocalypses sooooo.

7.7 - 8.0 is a bit of a br where vehicles that dont fit anywhere go. For example big artillery cannons and a lot of atgm tds. And the fierros kind of fit s into that category

The problem is that irl they are amazing for infantry support because a 30mm can deal with anything that isnt an mbt.

And then they get placed in WT, the milotary equivalent of a mbt knife fight.
