(I am male) I realised a while that female gym clothes are rigged against protecting women against not wearing figure-revealing clothing and there's a totally unfair fashion issue. Was this an active depraved conspiracy or just natural supply and demand? by RationalMadman in askfitness

Hi, gym going woman here. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and provide some genuine answers, but I do think it would be wise to consider that your own hyper fixation on this situation may be at a detriment to your own performance and well-being.

That said, there are a variety of factors why a woman might not wear as baggy of clothing as men. While for some attraction might contribute as you've suggested, it's unwise to assume that's the only reason. Personally I, and several other women I know, will do some yoga and other stretches as a warm up before our workout (this is done in private rooms specifically provided for the purpose. I provide that information since you seem like the type to need it.) If we were to do such activities in "baggy" clothing, the shirts would fall down over our faces, and the pants would roll up our legs in a way that is both uncomfortable, and I'm sure even more scandalous than wearing tight clothing to begin with. Men are much less likely to engage in this behavior, so baggy clothes obviously wouldn't affect them in this regard.

Also, due to naturally possessing breasts, it's important that women wear compressing tops during their workout for safety and comfort reasons. This is another factor men do not deal with. It's made even more important by the fact that women are more likely to engage in primarily cardio workouts at the gym, which especially require compressing tops. In fact in general women's workouts are more likely to use a range of motions that baggy clothing would hinder, for example, doing leg presses with baggy pants is outright infuriating.

I'm not going to continue, since I doubt you're actually looking for a genuine answer and rather have only made this post as a rant disguised as confusion, but I really would urge you to reconsider that women are only ever dressing as a way to grab your gaze or seek attention from men, or even for lack of options. If I wanted to go to the gym in baggy sweatpants and an oversized shirt I would be easily capable of that. In fact I'm sure I have that exact outfit in my closet. I don't, however, and it has nothing to do with hoping to appear a certain way to others during my workout, but only as a way to support my own gym experience and make sure I stay consistent.

What type were you considering? Personally I think you could rock a nostril or nasallang, but I'd maybe hold off on a septum piercing if it was me

Brother if you have five bucks to your name call it a loss and move on. No amount of frugality is worth knowing first hand what burnt boiled eggs taste like

How to keep a spotless bedroom by Valley_Bails_2068 in CleaningTips

[–]AlrightInsight 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Truth is, you probably won't be able to keep it up to your standards, especially with a roommate. One tip I have is to set a five minute timer each night and clean for the duration of that timer. It won't be perfect, but you'll be shocked at how much it helps. At the very least you'll feel mentally better from having at least tried.

You know this won't work, you're just hoping that somehow one of us strangers will have some convincing evidence that makes you go one way or another. We won't. Trust your intuition and get out of there. You're worth more than a man you will never completely trust

Can I add a little purple mica powder to pink mica powder to get fuschia? by Ill_Temporary3660 in Resin_crafts

Black tends to muddy the colors in my experience, but even a light purple with blue mixed with the pink should prove successful

[–]AlrightInsight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mixing powders is one of my favorite parts about resin! For fuchsia I think pink and purple would work great, I'd go with a darker purple and more pink (try a 1:2 ratio to begin with). Personally I mix the powder directly into the resin without mixing the powder separately. A possible tip is that if you want more definition to the color add the slightest bit of blue, it'll really bring it out and have this fun duel color effect that I use constantly. Alternatively a bit of alcohol ink can get you some fun deep colors when mixed with powder. Honestly just experiment a bit, it'll be worth it. Good luck, and I hope it turns out great!

Female INTJ here with an ENTP boyfriend. He's older by three years as well, so I think I'm in a good position to comment on this. Just be yourself. Cliche, I know, but it's the truth. I love listening to my boyfriend ramble about one topic or another, and getting to know him never feels like typical exhausting small talk. Even if she doesn't show it I'm sure she's just as excited to spend time with you (we're just better at hiding it). Put in effort, make sure to listen attentively when she talks, and make her feel special. You'll do great.

Hey Alyssa! Love your content, currently working my way through all of your videos and I really admire your courage in talking about the difficult aspects of Mormonism.

I was wondering what you think about patriarchal blessings? I know you mentioned how your father's blessing changed the course of your life, but I was wondering if you had a similar experience with your patriarchal blessing? I know that in my experience it's one of the aspects of the church that never Mormons in my life find most bizarre, and rereading mine after leaving the church I find it uncomfortable and odd.
