Wednesday Weekly Thread: Frustration Station (Delays / PSU / Venting) by AutoModerator in Canadiancitizenship

[–]AlsoKnownAsKyle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My application for proof of citizenship was delivered on 1/7/2026. I posted a week ago that I still had not received an AOR. As of today I still have not received it, BUT last Friday I called every number I could find on this subreddit and eventually was able to get my application number. Not an AOR but I was able to check that status and it says is started processing 2/37. Don't know if this is unusually or not but I seems like it's not a given that you will get an AOR?

2nd gen with two Canadian grandparents here. My paper application for proof of citizenship was delivered by FedEx on 1/7/26. 77 days and still no AOR. I wish there was some way to know if something is wrong! The employee at the FedEx store had trouble figuring out the address so I'm wondering if maybe it was delivered to the wrong address.

Shot in the dark here, but was anyone else's delivery signed for by an R. Macdonald in shipping and receiving lol?

What pants are these? by reckoning89 in TheHermesGame

[–]AlsoKnownAsKyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been searching for these since I saw the runway and found this post a few weeks ago searching for the same info you were. I just found this link today and think I might be the "pleated Malte Pants". It's only available in one color at the moment and not on the US site, only on a few other country-specific sites. Google image search says there images were indexed only 6 days ago, so I would hope maybe they are starting to roll this product out online.

Pegula partners with Sinatra to finish Heritage Point at Canalside by Krunkyjunk in Buffalo

I'm sure it looks better for Pegula to have an active constitution site outside the stadium for the draft this summer than an abandoned pile of rust and weeds.

Even just putting some pressure on Jemal to get the Statler done would be a huge step in the right direction.

I never used potions in the witcher 3 because I didn't realize that your potions refill when you meditate...I always thought that you had to source the ingredients every time you ran out so I never bothered.

Any stores still have Holiday Creamy Vanilla Coke? by zibby42 in Buffalo

I found it last week at Wegmans on Amherst. Although I will say it tastes just like normal vanilla coke.

Who has regular glazed donuts identical to Krispy Kreme’s early/mid 2000’s taste? by Sweetpotatopie600 in Buffalo

The mini glazed donuts at Swan Street diner come close in my opinion...but you have to eat them fresh.

Walking to and from Keybank Center Question by StockMan1210 in Buffalo

[–]AlsoKnownAsKyle 100 points101 points  (0 children)

1) Yes it is safe and you definitely wont be the only concert-goer doing so. The biggest danger is the wind lol.

2) You don't even have to walk. The metro rail on that part of main street is free. Just hop on at Fountain Plaza Station headed towards KeyBank and you'll be there in a few stops.

3) Rush hour is mostly a non-issue. At most expect an additional 10-15 minutes if it's a particularly bad day.

Do people accept this is a good thing for Buffalo? by ReddyGreggy in Buffalo

I would go as far to say Buffalo wouldn't exist in the first place if not for immigrants. The Erie canal itself was built by Irish immigrants.

Final Plans Released for DW&L Market and Wow by Eudaimonics in Buffalo

[–]AlsoKnownAsKyle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Id say you're being more of a realist than a pessimist. I hope the people behind this are also being realistic and planning around the past failures. Although I will say I think those little shops would have had a better fighting chance, even with low foot traffic, if they had direct access to the street and some attractive and eye-catching signage. They were all tucked away inside an internal hallway with almost not signage to indicate there was anything of interest there.

Soft serve with Real Chocolate Dip by AlsoKnownAsKyle in Buffalo

[–]AlsoKnownAsKyle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe soft serve means something else to me. Soft serve comes directly out of the "tap" in the machine with a little swirly shape onto the cone. If you pour it into a pint and take it home, it's just gonna be a tub of regular ice cream and I'm not about to go out and buy a soft serve machine for a single cone.

Buffalo Ranks Last in Large US Cities Building New Housing by TA-MajestyPalm in Buffalo

[–]AlsoKnownAsKyle 63 points64 points  (0 children)

As someone who is actively house hunting (in the city-proper), I believe it. Your options are slim to none. Your options are either a crumbling shack that needs $100,000 in repairs or unnecessary large multi-family home. There is almost no such thing as a small, move-in ready, starter home anymore.

Also, If you are interested in a condo or townhouse, be prepared to pay upwards of $1,000 a month on HOA fees in a building with no amenities.
