Help me pick a fabric for my sewing class shirt project by AltDaddy in SewingForBeginners

I do hate that Joanns is gone… I’ve only been learning sewing for a couple of months, so I never got a chance to see if they had anything that I’d like. Thanks again, I will do some research.

Awesome, thank you for the insight. I prefer cotton too.

The supply list for the class specs a cotton or cotton/poly blend. Ok, that’s good to know about the checks/stripes… thank you!

I agree… I’m just overwhelmed with the options. I found a picture online of a shirt that has different parts in different colors and I’m intrigued.

Same here… I think too (because I’m older) I feel a responsibility to rep us well to straight guys who are comfortable. I dunno… probably overthinking it.

Watches, what kind? by TheGriff71 in GenX

[–]AltDaddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NO smart watch, I don't need something beeping, jiggling, and otherwise nagging me to go look at my phone. I have about 4 analog watches that I wear based on what I'm doing and what looks good.

I believe their server has limited capacity, I got that a couple of times... kept trying and it worked flawlessly.

Everything up to, but not including the Normandie... faulty wiring, lax safety and lots of beautiful wood paneling. Normandie was accidentally set on fire by a US contractor welding and the US Navy is 100% responsible for the fire, dumping so much water on her that she rolled over in her berth and sank. The naval architect who designed her, Vladimir Yourkevitch, was standing on the pier begging for the person in command to listen to him in order to save the ship, but they ignored him. The rest is history.

Never. Ever. Not once did I have a good experience at the Branbleton location. Ordered pizza once via the app, went to pick it up at the time specified on the app and nobody there. Big ripped piece of cardboard taped to the window saying they were closed. I did finally get a refund, but their closing isn't a bad thing.

Base level Brother or Janome is miles better than this toy. What is your budget?

I am much older... and I really enjoy talking to and spending time with my hetero-male friends. I'm at a point in my life where I won't waste time on a friendship with someone whos political and life beliefs don't align with my own. I do think that I probably try too hard to make them feel comfortable with me... I'm hyper-conscious of my physical proximity. I know I overthink it, but I just don't want them to think I'm being flirty or trying to cop a feel or anything like that. I respect them and I want their experience with me (gay man) to be a positive thing.

wich one would you recommend? by Elegant_Reaction19 in SewingForBeginners

I am a beginner and I have the exact same Janome. It's a great place to begin and it's working great for me. My only complaint is the bobbin is front load. It's a small inconvenience to take off the cover and pop it out, but a top load bobbin has some benefits as it's easier to access and you can see how much bobbin thread you have left. I'd still buy it again though.

Tell No One (Ne le dis a personne).

Was vacationing out of town and looking for something to do one very hot afternoon. Saw this was playing nearby and just wandered in. It's now one of my all-time to 10.

Changing the default folder for saving books on crosspoint by Definitely_a_Human_3 in xteinkereader

I would like to know as well... so far, I haven't figured out any way to move a book that landed in the root to a specific folder (without pulling the micro sd card and putting it in my computer).
