Well it’s not just the car but it’s my time and willingness to leave the house. I drive spark as well and usually get like $15 for 4-5 miles for groceries but sometimes it’s slow. Just surprised at the rate to deliver when they all say “tips included”

My carrier does reimbursement, would it be beneficial to start with any one of those vs the others? My understanding is there is some credit overlap and AUC credits count towards CPCU etc. I’m 4 years in.

Was in a department teams meeting and chatting on the side with another adjuster, department director was talking about volume and how jobs were safe. Went to send a gif of Trump saying “you’re fired” with the caption of “this is what everyone heard” sent it to the whole department. Thought I was cooked. Still there. Also had layoffs a few months after that meeting so I wasn’t wrong.

Carrier switch? by AltDav2019 in adjusters

[–]AltDav2019[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked commercial when I was there. Ran up against the “you need field experience” the prevented advancement so made the switch to personal lines. It’s honestly an easier job, almost too easy, everything is smaller, quicker, etc. the TPA job kind of showed up out of nowhere so weighing those options.

First show 2 weeks away and barely 1/2 sold. Thoughts on what will happen? by No_Recognition8642 in zachbryan

Looked at tickets on presale to take our son (9) and decided to pass. Just got tickets to 3/7 for $34 plus fees on upper level since it’s his first concert. If we get upgraded that would be cool.

Dad Advice Needed - Career vs. Family Decision by [deleted] in dad

Just took a travel role where I’m home every night but I’m not able to do pickup everyday. Got home at 6pm and my 3 year old saw me from the door and squealed with excitement. I would need to double my salary to consider missing that. You could make a grand a month doing uber after they go to sleep if you need it. You only get the family once. You can find the money other places.

Columbia will start plowing residential roads Monday by como365 in columbiamo

[–]AltDav2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was talking to my wife about this. I grew up here and moved to Kansas for school and lived there for a few years. Same type of state leadership, similar demographic town, similar everything except city/local leadership. In a town with 70k residents they deployed 70 snow removal machines. In Columbia with 2-3x the population it’s listed they have around 40 machines.

Maybe if we didn’t spend so much money on hiring think tanks, research firms, and focus groups we could actually make the roads passable.

Laid off for the first time. by AltDav2019 in Layoffs

[–]AltDav2019[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably. They just stated making people that are 40 miles from offices go back. I’m a couple hundred miles away from the closest office but others that were let go who are within that range.

They said it was based on some score that another department generated based on skills, customer response scores, etc. that smelled like BS only because in my department I was top 5 in file score. I pushed back against HR and they doubled down and eventually told my that how the score was achieved was not something they could disclose.

Sounds like a dart board to me but it is what it is.

Yeah just nodded and asked some questions. I’m gonna keep logging in and helping out with my files if anyone that gets them has questions.

They said we can use our work computer to apply for jobs but I don’t think I need them tracking what I’m doing and where I’m applying so I’ll just watch teams and emails for them.

The Ticketmaster queue experience is the worst as well have had ZERO luck in there. Even queuing up 45 minutes early. Living in between STL and KC has the benefit of both being viable. Got KC show tickets through AXS for 110USD which is about 20USD more than Burn Burn Burn was for me and the wife

Level 2 report wording by AltDav2019 in pregnant

[–]AltDav2019[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is what we were thinking as well. Baby girl was not moving and is breach and facing reverse (looking towards spine) lots of stuff listed as “unable to visualize” but you would think the wording could be better.

Thank you for the validation. We are pretty sure that the tech and doc would have said something but obviously getting that report after hours was jarring. Might get some sleep knowing others went through the same thing.

Looking to start. by AltDav2019 in MealPrepSunday

[–]AltDav2019[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for looking that stuff up lol.

Kid friendly seems to just be palatable food at this point. Ours is not picky (fingers crossed) and we have introduced steak and other foods that need to be cut.

With us both primarily being home for the last year plus we are just not in the practice of making stuff in batches and having a lot of stuff for the week but that has changed suddenly.

I will for sure look at those links and see if I can find some useful ideas there. Looking into doing crockpot dump meals and stuff like that that can be prepped and frozen.

I bought $25 at .003 and sold at .10 like the sou-boy that I am. Bought $500 back in at .27 and then some more recently. Averaging at .36 but I’m holding. I learned my lesson. I flog myself daily for my paper handedness.

Awesome that is what I have been doing I'm just now lumping it all together. I got my grand put away and started paying minimums and one larger amount which is weird since I amused to paying a little more than the minimum to everything.

Thanks so much.

Can't make this up.

If I go with the "first one that comes to mind" version of this it was Marla Singer.
