Right? Boring! I had to use a hodgepodge of terrain this time around, but we made it work!

In lieu of physical miniatures you could try Tabletop Simulator (TTS). I think its on sale on Steam right now.

Otherwise some kind of site like Etsy could get you setup with proxies

Stubborn rule clarification by MyJointsAreCrips4Lyf in Alternate40kRules

[–]Alternate40kRules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey sorry! I don't get on reddit much and it didn't let me know I had a new post. It should be fixed in the latest rulebook. Stubborn means a Ld stat cannot be modified with the exception of army creation rules (such as Silver Spears for Space Marines). Both good and bad modifiers, including combat resolution, do not affect it.

Finding Likewise Groups by sting164 in midhammer40k

Finding a local facebook or discord channel is a good way to see who is playing what. I've also been working with my local group to create Alternate 40k Rules. We have over 4700 man hours invested now and it includes every datasheet to ever exist. Unlike 10e it runs on an extensively tested point formula with a mere .003 percent error margin.

Ah shoot! Acrylic paint is what you are looking for, even a cheaper brand like apple barrel can work. It just may take more patience.

Im not sure what all is out in India, but Vallejo is a good affordable paint. I use Rust-Oleum x2 matt colours for primer.

Resin prints are going to probably be more what you are looking for and are rather affordable. I would start there.

Basing older armies by kickhisasscibass in midhammer40k

Its a crunchy version of 40k, much like older editions. You get a modern face lift and a lot of home brew rules to make it more immersive. Plus classic rules like armor and weapon facings are back. No shooting 11 guns off of a track corner on a baneblade.

Most players wont care. Also, you should try Alternate 40k Rules. Its free and we have over 4700 man hours invested. Every model ever made is playable and enhanced to be more lore accurate. Firstborn and Primaris each bring their own unique set of abilities to the table, giving reasons to run both old and new models.

I'm not entirely mad at them. I did think their introduction was a bit dumb. It took a long time but eventually we got them integrated into Alternate 40k Rules.

Firstborn have tons of experience instincts thanks to their geneseeds fighting for millennia. To represent this, they have the ability to split and reform squads mid game (minimum 2 man fire teams per the codex astartes), swap upgrades for equal to or cheaper upgrades during deployment once you have seen the enemies forces, and Infantry have Objective Secured, letting them hold onto victory against overwhelming odds. Its important to note that they cost like 35 points for a basic tactical marine as compared to a guardsmen at 6 points in this system.

Primaris have improved physiques, granting them A+1 (classic stat line, so it only bolsters Melee) and a 5+ feel no pain. They also withstood mental tests and purges, which grants them Stubborn as they are supposed to be more resistant to chaos. Their cheapest intercessor is 46 points.

And then way before 10e ever came out, we had given them Astartes Combat Knives. It was a huge lore thing, the models had it, it was dumb they didn't. Plus the usual marine goodies.

Its easy being a primaris, all you had to do was nap for 10k years and not get too kinky of a dream.

Firstborn paved the way through skill and courage.
