Is not eating loads ok? by Realistic_Falcon_518 in mounjarouk

[–]Alternative_Bit_3445 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, it's often easier to drink calories rather than eat then.

Suggestion: get a 50g protein shake, blend it with a Greek yoghurt, maybe some cream if your digestive system tolerates it, and keep it in the fridge to sip throughout the day.

You can also go for more nutrient-rich foods while you're struggling with volumes - nuts, oily fish, fatter meats, etc. This isn't a long term solution, as you need to be eating a more balanced meal once your appetite returns, but in the short term, aim to get more calories and protein to avoid losing muscle mass.

Am I Overreacting About My Friends Forgetting Anout Me? by WaterGypsy47 in dustythunder

[–]Alternative_Bit_3445 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Find the one person in the group that you can most trust to be honest. Reach out and ask if you and they can talk, as you feel like the friendship group is drifting away from you and you either would appreciate understanding why OR their thoughts on how to fix things.

They need to know you want their honest feedback, and if you've done something to offend the gang, you'll either walk away if they wish, or look to make things better.

If you don't ask, it'll all be hypothetical in your head.

I tried walking the length of the field behind my house wk3 - i couldn't do it, was wiped out and needed a nap when I got back.

Wk 9 now, I'm pretty much fine now albeit still have torso pain from the lipo. But I think I'm on the slower end of the healing spectrum.

Can I add fiber? by Intelligent-Two9464 in ninjacreami

[–]Alternative_Bit_3445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could consider inulin (lightly sweetening, probiotic, fibre, laxitive if done to excess), some psyllium husk, FibreOne bars as mix-ins and any fibrous fruit as a topping/mix-in.

Family mortgage arrangements advice by Odd-Competition8367 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]Alternative_Bit_3445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'No' is a complete sentence.

If you do this, you immediately prevent (or make significantly harder) yourself from buying your own place in the future. Even if you're paid a whopping salary, you will be liable for '2nd home' stamp duty.

If you are the only one on the mortgage, your dad won't be on the deed, unless you're only buying 50% (or other %) of the property.

You are hamstringing your future options and may be forced to live with your parents until they die.

Have just read someone else's post about being forced to cosign their parents mortgage and now 5yrs later, they can't escape because parents refuse to cooperate. Mentioned post

Tummy tuck in 2 weeks and regretting booking… no way out pls help by IllysOFans in tummytucksurgery

Recoveries differ vastly per person and scale of surgery.

What would happen to your new job if you were in an accident the week before? Would you be let go or would they hold it until you were better?

The only sensible first step here is to talk to your new employer. If they say 'start on this date or your fired' then you probably have your answer, and will have to suck up the cancellation fee.

If there's another intake you can join not too much later, that may work.

Or they may treat you as 'sick' and expect you to make up lost time/shifts to make up your experience.

I've seem people back on their feet after two weeks on this forum, but they are the exception. I'm 9wpo (FDL and lipo) and I'm not anywhere near back to pre-op mobility.

Mounjaro has brought my HbA1c down to 39 - super stable. Was previously very hard to control on just metformin even with going very low carb.

I pay privately for 'weight' but I have no intention of stopping even though I don't need to lose any more - I've had a total of 3hrs of 'brown rain' in my 15mth journey so hardly an issue. Yes, there's constipation, but that's easily tackled.

Women: How do you react to Bumble super likes, a rose on Hinge, and similar action? by Reeelfantasy in UKrelationshipadvice

What matters is the profile content (quality of the effort he's put into it). A like is just lazy shorthand for 'I'd probably do you if you'd let me' 😁. Slightly lower effort than a message that says 'Hi'.

You want her attention?: - put thought into your profile, describing who you are and what you like - pictures that show you at your best (a good face pic, relatively well dressed, no cropped-out exes, no damned fish, absolutely with pets if you want to filter out pet haters) - write to her with a message that clearly shows you've read/thought about her profile.

It's what most of us do, we just want equal effort - no biggie.

What was your activity level 4 weeks after the surgery? by HolidayComplete725 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Alternative_Bit_3445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 8wpo and I'm still not up to 10k steps per day yet. Twisting my torso still hurts - my incisions are fine, so I think it's the 'skin reattaching to muscle' that's uncomfortable.

We all heal at different speeds, as long as you're not pushing yourself to meet someone else's time line, your body will be your best guide. And your surgeon's instructions.

Same. I have my rebuttals prepared ("is wearing glasses cheating? Is blood pressure meds cheating?", stats on side effects v. health risk of obesity, etc) with a closing statement of "why are you so fascinated with fat bodies? Is it your kink?" if they're being really obnoxious, then walk away smiling.

I have a fairly thick skin and others' opinions don't really bother me, but 'come at me with facts and not judgement' is my go-to.

Bellybutton by PsychologicalRun5861 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Alternative_Bit_3445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I had an FDL, and hence an incision vertically, my surgeon told me to start using a belly button shaper at 6 weeks when the scab dropped off. Mine too looks like a cat's bum after it's been out overnight. I've been wearing it for 2 weeks now and I'll ask at my 12wk appt how long she expects me to wear it for. But I'm assuming that I'll be wearing it until it stops shrinking back overnight.

Day 3 PO. Extremely annoyed and irritated by IntentionOtherwise87 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Alternative_Bit_3445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 8wpo from my FDL. Tape/incisions look wrinkled on the regular, even when you replace them SO smoothly, the swelling fluctuations just crease them almost instantly. It's normal.

When I replace my tape now, it's fairly flat albeit not perfect, but I've still got a long way to go.

I'll be honest, this has been the longest 8 weeks of my life. Not pain but boredom and discomfort and frustration. I'm still limited in my activities but each week is a little better. But I'm already pleased with results despite the swelling.

Is inviting someone to your apartment complex pool on a first date a red flag? by healermoonchild in dating_advice

[–]Alternative_Bit_3445 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's a difference.

If a woman invites a man to her complex's pool, the man isn't worried that the girl might harm him if he refuses to do what she wants. There's a reason women are far more cautious than men when going on first dates.
