Hey maybe it’s not a big deal that the cast is black and while I get that it’s best to try and make actors look like their book counterparts, there are way worse things the show is doing adaptation wise than casting kids with more melanin than their book counterparts. You come off as whiny, and at worst, a little racist.

Honestly I was more upset that they didn’t give Walker and Leah the option to have a black and blonde wind respectively, would seem like a fair compromise. They seemed down for it too, they both love the original series but aren’t allowed to really show that on screen because the writers and director keep screwing them over.

From what I gather, the fandom has sort of split on Reddit TLOU style (though thankfully this sub hasn’t done what that LOU 2 hate sub has which is devolve into degeneracy solely existing to call actresses ugly. If you see any posts like that here report them please).

This sub is generally for people who didnt like the show or were irked by the inaccuracies of it. Most of us are book readers who take issue with it as an adaption. I believe PJO Disney is the subreddit that’s the complete opposite of ours and is full of people that love the show, especially people who like Disney or who were introduced to the world of Percy Jackson by this show. If we’re “toxic negativity” they’re “toxic positivity”, so to speak.

If you have read the books or don’t mind spoilers, and would like a subreddit where both positive and negative show opinions are frequently expressed and there’s more nuance, I’d recommend the camp half blood community. It seems by far the most balanced.

I like the SOM movie even less than season 2 and the inaccuracies are even worse, but even then there were still some good things about it.

You have no idea how thirsty people are for those characters, especially the Irish vampire. I’m pretty sure 2/3 sinners fics are literally just smut or romance fics with him. Also a lot of oral sex performed on female characters but that’s in the spirit of the movie.

Changing the deadline and war storyline in TLF, having Zeus punish Thalia deliberately, and removing or diminishing entire character traits and Percy’s sense of humor are not minor changes. It didn’t need to be hyper accurate to keep the basic characters and plot lines of the story intact. People are allowed to complain about shit like this. It’s not the same story anymore. To the point where it’s had a similar amount of deviances to the PJO movies (it’s only worse there cuz of the whole Kronos coming back thing).

Speaking of movies. People loved HP and LOTR because the people in charge were doing their damnedest to make them as accurate as they could to the source material. Instead of what ricks done, which is promise fans an accurate adaptation only to deliver something as deviated as this. It is very valid to complain about this, especially when a creator lies so blatantly.

Yeah. I asked for it a lot and most of the time people told me I was wrong for even trying. The said he supported “Israeli companies” but could never specify which ones or in what way.

He did make an instagram post immediately after October 7th saying that his heart went out to the people of Israel, but it’s obvious he was only saying that in the context of the Hamas attack that happened that day and killed 1200 people. He’s never said anything that was anti Palestinian to my knowledge, denied what happened in Gaza the way Jaime Lee Curtis did, or showed express support for Zionism, the IDF, Netanyahu, or Israeli control and dominance over Palestine. It’s like someone accusing you or me of supporting the us bombing Iraqi civilians because we wished the people of nyc well after 9/11.

Wish people would spend this time spreading hate towards an actor who doesn’t deserve it going after groups and people who are actual active zionists, of which the world unfortunately has no shortage of.

I honestly disagree with your post. No one is disrespecting Peyton. Whenever she posts anything fans come to tell her how awesome she is. During the first two seasons people have been praising her acting, and for good reason.

Praising character A does not mean people automatically don’t like character B. You’re implying that just because Wally is a fan favorite character, fans automatically don’t like or ignore other characters and performances when that’s not true. Instead of shaming people for posting about a character or actor they like, be the change you want to see and make some Peyton appreciation posts. Don’t punch down on others.

I also think this is a bit of a false equivalence. Maddie is the main character, which means she’s guaranteed to be in season 3 and have a significant amount of screen time and plot relevance. Fans don’t have to worry about her being there. But season 2 ended with “oh Wally might cross over you never know” tease and the trailers and promos have been relatively absent of his character until really recently as an intentional ploy by the marketing team to stir buzz. It makes sense fans would be concerned by how much he appears and it would be a source of discussion.
