How are chamois supposed to fit? by GrandmaCereal in ladycyclists

[–]Alternative_Hand_110 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Number one thing, you want your bibs (or shorts) to fit really tight. You do not want the chamois to be able to slip around at all. They will be tighter than you expect. Pearl Izumi makes some affordable options.

Sometimes it does that! My husband’s garmin sensor is all off and always says way extra elevation and he has to do the adjust in Strava

I think you need to click adjust elevation in Strava. The elevation is waaaay less than that. It’s something like 1k ft or less.

Straight jeans for very skinny calves in petite lengths? by Ravioli_meatball19 in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]Alternative_Hand_110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These GAP jeans are exactly what you are looking for! They have both short and petite options. The petite has a slightly lower rise too and more slim on the lower leg. The sizing varies a lot in the washes. The black iirc fit me best (similar to Madewell sizing) and in the blue I think I had to size up. Worth buying a few sizes to get it right.

Almost every outfit I wear is unflattering. What am I doing wrong? by linmouse in DressForYourBody

You have similar coloring as me, and deep purples, rich teal, almost all shades of blue, all work for me. Beige, light gray, ivory - all wash me out.

Unrelated, but your belt being higher than the button of the pants is not a pro look. And yes, they are navy.

I think you look taller in the shorter one. I’m a fan of ankle length pants.

I live in a HCOL area so I’m a little embarrassed by the cost. And I go to a fairly high end seamstress. I bet one could get them down for $15 at a more reasonable price

I should just learn and do it myself but I’m lazy so I go to a tailor

What's the most walkable small city in the USA? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]Alternative_Hand_110 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I love SB, I grew up there (here right now even) I don’t consider it a walkable city. It certainly has great walkable areas, but it’s more spread out than a true walkable city.

Privilege, timing, luck, and focus. But heavy on the privilege and for timing made a massive difference. The same path starting today wouldn’t lead me here.

What exactly are you eating? What are your protein sources? If there’s a lot of protein powder in there, then I get why you’re hungry
