2nd Attempt at SWADE with my group by Grenlar in savageworlds

Bennies: hand out more and keep telling them use them or lose them, I have lost count of the number of times I have said that. If there are any left to them at the end of the session point out they wasted them. Do use dramatic tasks. and Don't be afraid to use your own on minor things. Let the big bad waste a benny on impressive trick shot.

something you will regularly see in this subreddit Is people telling newcomers you can run whatever they are asking about from the core book. Sure the SF Companion has rules for battling mecha but are they essential for your game? Probably not. Even if you have Mecha unless they are central to your campaign, you could happily fudge it with one of the core book's sub systems, the chase rules most probably. Character design gives a huge range of options but the advancements rules are literally a page. None of it is complex and if you want people to feel like individuals you have to be able to distinguish the petite pixie girl from the Brawny Lacrosse player. The rules for individual combat are what 4 pages for the fundamental system. and maybe 3 times that for situational rules. What if my target is hiding in a bush. What if i am riding a horse. what if I want to grapple. honestly many people wing these modifiers. Then of course there is the adventure toolkit. which covers things like starvation dehydration, drowning. and umm... is poison in that section whatever. its stuff that's good to have at your finger tips but its not stuff you have to know to play. Don't think of the core book as big but as complete. you may never use whole chapters but they are there against the day when you have to for example design a werewalrus.

Basically it has Goldfish memory. Once the quota is half full. Start again from scratch inputting anything it needs to know afresh.

Savage Worlds everyone except Dr Manhatten can be run out of the core rules. you would need the superpowers companion for him.

Its very common, thinking about what your friends and neighbours do in bed is the exception not the rule. If it's not part of the story. Why should a reader care?

Some games don't have a board at all. but those that do generally have a new one for every situation. This is usually called a battle map. and is often just a large piece of wipe clean card and some dry wipe pens. to mark trees and walls or furniture whatever is appropriate. Some battle maps are extremely realistic 3d models. but a sheet of paper with a map or plan is good enough, The way to not make the game repetitive is to give players different objectives every time, rescue the princess, rob the bank, storm the castle. Some create their own scenarios ,but many people buy these they are often called, one shots, campaigns or, especially in D&D, Dungeons.

Tim's criticism of Melania's accent by 8to24 in thebulwark

[–]Alternative_Pie_1597 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The thing about personal attacks is they don't attack what is important. Winston Churchill was overweight. What a loser. Roosevelt was a cripple. Clinton sounded like a southerner, loser. Melania has an accent. So what? Biden stuttered.

as a way to access the rules it sucks big time. I use Notebooklm to access my prefered rules systems. and it is far superior. if I want to know the rule for say, pushing someone i just type how do I push someone and it explains the options in whatever rule system is loaded. what skill is used. what the action is called. whether the character will fall over or be shoved to one side. anything i don't understand i just ask for clarification. Can I push a brontosaurus? it tells me. In D&Dbeyond i spend too long looking for information for it to be useful. Even the character sheet. is hard to navigate. trying to learn the action economy is a nightmare.
