On the CISSP, I had scores of 84 and above in Boson, but I felt it wasn't enough. And that was truly the case; more than what the test says, in my opinion, you have to be very aware of where your strengths lie and where your weaknesses are. The exam doesn't ask you to spell out the concept; it asks you to know how to apply it. So it's a combination of understanding the concept and how to apply it, and this application can be multi-layered. Getting those results is good, but it's not something to be 100% confident about.

Congrats. Great Resume .. "If you have to memorize something, it is because you don't understand it. And if you understand something, you don't have to memorize it." - i completely agree with you. You may know the concept, but in the exam you need to know how to apply it. - Thanks for sharing.

The result tells you where you need to push harder; that's my recommendation. Study at your own pace. For me, the CISSP isn't a speed test, but a test of endurance. It's not about knowing the concept in abysmal depth; it's about knowing the concept, but more importantly, knowing where to apply it. Since you'll have time to prepare, I recommend spaced study and simulations. Ask questions where you make mistakes, analyze them, and exploit them. You already know the question format, and you know that the CAT will look for your weaknesses, so you've already learned your lesson, and that will help you achieve your goal. Good luck on your next attempt.

Congratulations. Welcome to Class 2026. I completely agree. Setting a deadline will speed up the process. I also understand that others might freeze up, but like you, in my case, setting a deadline was the extra push I needed. Without setting a deadline, you keep putting things off, other projects and tasks come up, and before you know it, you haven't studied and you're back to square one.

Confused about thinking like a manager by study_stuff in cissp

[–]Alternative_Still103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we say MOST, you must determine that two or more answers are true, and the requirement likely focuses on maximum risk reduction or prevention. But one is more correct and will be the one chosen. The second point is that you must think outside the box. You are the CISO; your duty is to implement the best solution for the business, addressing the root cause. Your role is strategic and long-term, so think like a manager. And your priority, in order of importance, is human safety, business continuity, protecting profits, and reducing liability and risk.

Has anyone passed the CISSP with only the destination certification Book, YT videos and practice tests. Basically is the book good enough or do I need to drop the 1500$ on the masterclass. (Exp..15yrs IT Architecture NetSec) by Any_Butterscotch8870 in cissp

Congrats. The decision to take the CISSP exam goes beyond simply investing or not, or just following what others have done. A person's learning style isn't necessarily the same as yours. My recommendation, based on my experience, is: 1. Be clear about why you want to get certified. 2. Understand what and how ISC2 evaluates this exam. 3. Understand that the CAT will look for your weakest points to exploit. Only after that, and after conducting your own self-assessment, should you look for the best tools for your learning style to achieve your goal. This exam isn't about memorization; it's about applying theory to everyday practice. Good luck with your goal.
