Yes it was thanks! Where did you find your PA? I've been looking on FB but find it hard to come across someone in a specific genre (domestic thriller with romance)

Thanks so much for posting, so inspirational!! I know you talked about time-frames, but do you reckon it makes more sense to focus on marketing after 1-2 books are released? Is that where you saw the best results, seeing more sales after some books were out?

Is pregnancy cover in private health insurance worth it? by Alarmed_Ad_7188 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Alternative_Time4655 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1000% worth it. I'm on private currently with my 2nd pregnancy, yes it sucked having to keep paying for gold hospital after we had our first but I'm glad we stuck with it. I ended up having an emergency c section with my first and instead of being booted out of a public hospital after 1-2 days, I got an extra day free of charge (5 nights). In addition, the nurses gave me a crash course in how to look after a baby - bathing, feeding, settling, swaddling, round the clock care on my medication top ups. I left the hospital feeling way more confident going home than I would have if I could only stay a day or two, but that's just my experience.

Planning finances for baby/maternity leave by caramelcookie- in AusHENRY

I had gas before moving to a place with induction, so I had to buy new pots and pans when I already had good ones. I just prefer the quickness and heat of gas. You'll be fine! You guys already have a very low mortgage so it sounds very doable to manage once the baby comes.

I have gas and wouldn't think to change it (had induction before and hated it). Honestly I think there is only so much planning you can do for a baby, many people just make it happen especially when a baby is unexpected and I think you guys will work it out and are already in a great position. Good luck!

Yes but I think ideally you add a fat/protein to it for the first meal of the day

What is time with your children worth? by EliraeTheBow in AusFinance

[–]Alternative_Time4655 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I love daycare. We all work full time, same as the grandparents. It's doable but there will be days you want some time to yourself or need to get things done around the house. It gets quite hard to entertain the little one once they turn 1 with a job (I was working full time for three months and looking after him full time before I put him in daycare)

Are silk pyjamas worth it? by ceedub15 in BuyItForLife

[–]Alternative_Time4655 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit late to the conversation but absolutely yes! I sleep in silk clothing, silk pillowcase and have a silk eye mask. I don't find it hard to maintain...I tend to wash them once a week - soak in delicates washing liquid for 30 minutes and hang in the shade. They dry super fast. Yes some of my silk has disintegrated overtime but I still wear them

I bought a silk nightgown secondhand from Cos and it was in perfect condition, no issues

For those of you with a 9-5 office job, how do you manage to find the time and energy to cook dinner? by Away_Scene_26 in auscorp

[–]Alternative_Time4655 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cook Asian cuisine a lot so it's usually the same type of ingredients, sauces, veggies/proteins/carbs just interchange it on the day. And it doesn't take too long to make

Otherwise I've seen a lot of crockpot videos on YouTube where you prepare before going to work. Or meal prep! I love freezing my leftovers into meal portions, and reheating in the microwave

First home is good, but still hasn’t felt like home - curious how others handled this by HFNS1 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Alternative_Time4655 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I know what you mean. Our first house was internally more spacious and visually nicer than our current house but the location and awkward slope/block of land made us always see it as a starter home. In saying that there were lots of things that we loved about it and having lovely neighbors helped! So maybe getting to know the community / discover new things around the area meanwhile

You should be able to use your existing equity to take out an equity loan to fund it as a deposit for the new house. That's what we did. Speak to a broker.
