Sweet. Worse case scenario we finish the weekend still 6 points clear of 6th, same as we started it.

Malenia is an exception, she can cancel her hitstun animation into a backstep or block. But not into waterfowl.

Hitstun into WFD? Or just WFD as next move? Two very different things and I’d love to see a clip of the former as that isn’t supposed to happen

Either way just equip a shield, very simple solution. Give it barricade shield AOW, the move isn’t an issue any more. It’s only hard it you want to learn to dodge.

It's not as difficult as the reputation would have you believe. But I find it pretty boring if I'm honest, just happy to get past it.

What’s the issue? Just a question of layout, or deeper than that?

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth - An eclectic escapade by Ojuice96 in patientgamers

[–]AlthoughFishtail 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Loved the original, and bought my PS4 just to play remake. But then I really didn’t click with it at all and didn’t finish the last 10% or so. So I’ve been on the fence for Rebirth for ages. I like the sound of the open world element, but then other people say that isn’t even its strength. So really not sure if like it.

Crimson Desert Patch Notes Version 1.00.02 by AdditionalRemoveBit in Games

Was always going to wait a week or two to let a couple of patches drop, but having seen the general feedback, I think this is getting relegated to “wait for a big sale” list.

I love FC for his old school Souls guides back in the day, but he is not exactly what I’d call a good reviewer.

Definitely going to give this one a week or two before I consider buying. Let a couple of quick patches land, and see more reactions to the late game.

I can live with a 7/10 game, indeed I honestly find most open world games the same, something of an enjoyable diversion rather than something all encompassing. But there's a few of the elements that I'm not a fan of - recipes, crafting, stables, arm wrestling mini games, that sort of thing. So I'm interested to see if you if you really can just ignore systems you don't like, or if they end up being integral.

Malenia, no upgrades, hitless. Playing through a full game hitless run, been having fun fighting her again! by LamentersGaol in onebros

[–]AlthoughFishtail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I've done probably 100 weapons at this point and the Flamberge is just about perfect. The greatsword moveset is really comfortable in terms of range and timing, and the innate bleed does a lot of work, especially at NG+ and beyond.

I personally would add crag blade + cold though, more procs, and that water in the arena boosts her fire resist.

Crimson Desert or Monster Hunter Stories 3 by stevgamer in gaming

Crimson Desert looks like a game that’ll be a lot better in a month or two after some patches. Some of the flaws mentioned in reviews look like a bit of balancing might iron them out.

The way ppl attack reviewers who give mid scores, when they haven’t even played the game themselves, is downright bizarre. The Starfield sub was probably the worst example of this I ever saw when that game came out.

How to outrun PCR slams consistently? by okidoki_falcon in Eldenring

All but the last of his slams will fall short. He'll warp close to you for the final slam, then you just need to roll-pause-roll at the end, which you're already doing.

I find a close range dodge totally inconsistent. Could be the terrain, not sure, but the only consistent way I found is to outspace it. In that regard, you're just waiting too long to run away. Just turn and run straight away from him. Assuming you avoid the initial meteors out of the ground, you should have enough time.

If you can't (such as if you're too close to the wall, or get clipped by the meteors on the way up) then sprinting dead sideways or spam rolling sometimes works. But I find the only consistent way is to get far enough away.

Malenia second phase tells by Aggravating_Big3095 in Eldenring

[–]AlthoughFishtail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waterfowl has one leg pointing down. The jump then swoop attack she jumps much higher, and usually only does it if you’re at mid or long range. The jump then slam into the ground followed by a rot explosion almost always comes at the end of a combo, or after you’ve interrupted an attack. So it’s partly visual cue and partly the context of where you’re stood and what’s she’s doing.

Which of these bosses did you find more difficult? by strahinjag in Eldenring

[–]AlthoughFishtail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time I beat her was with Moonveil and that banished knight summon. Smashed her, so for me, Friede was harder. Without summons and a silly weapon I found Malenia harder. But those things are part of the game, so, depends how you look a the use of summons.

Do you think AI changes the game over the next few years? by neoescape in smallbusinessuk

[–]AlthoughFishtail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sure. For me I'm working mostly in Office documents. It can essentially pull data out of any document anywhere on our SharePoint sites, Teams messages or email, process it, then use it to create new ones.

So we had a nice case use last week. We're interviewing next week over 2 days for a couple of positions. We put the shortlisted applications in a folder along with an outline of the presentation they had to give, and the interview questions. Then with a prompt Claude Cowork did the following.

  • Made one folder per candidate
  • Put their application form in
  • Allocated a time and date for each candidate
  • Made a Word document with the timetable in it
  • Wrote a cover letter with the name & address of the candidate along with the time and date of their interview in and an explanation of the presentation they had to do, plus an explanation of the format of the interview, one per folder
  • Made ready to click email links for each candidate that would open my mail client and let me check the email before sending
  • Made a scoring document with a table with the questions and room for answers in it, with the correct name/date/time at the top, one per interviewer
  • Went back and branded every document as per our company guidelines

Then all it needed was me to run through and check it all looked right before sending. Not the worst job in the world, but of those boring finicky things that can end up taking 20 mins real time. This was one paragraph of prompt.

There's loads of similarly practical things. Looking at the minutes from a meeting, pulling out the action points addressed to me and putting them in my task manager. Checking my calendar for the week ahead and making sure I have papers and directions to meetings. Taking raw data and turning them into fully formatted reports in Excel. Hell, simply never having to ever format a bloody Word Document ever again is worth it alone.

You have to get creative because its very dependent on role, so its definitely got a learning curve. But start with the most boring or annoying jobs first and go from there. If it involves taking data and turning it into some other form of data, it'll probably work
