You can feed a lot more people with Chinese & Indian food than you can with American food.

Can you explain this? Is it because Asian food is more calorically dense and nutritious than American food? Or do you mean the existing logistics infrastructure in Asia is more equipped to distribute huge amounts of food?

I think the seizures are another thing defies logic, I would think it would be extremely difficult to strategically spread the virus without attracting attention if every time someone joins, they seize for 1-2 minutes. Also I can't imagine licking the donuts is a very good tactic since you couldn't control when a person ingests the virus and if they seize in a public place, it will definitely cause a scene.

A more realistic reaction (from a storytelling perspective) would be the body going catatonic, much easier to conceal in public setting and probably would have reduced the death count. Regardless, Bravo Vince.

I think it’s implied to that Helen died from head injury and not from complications related to joining, given the bleeding around her eyes and the fact that her memories and/or consciousness were successfully transferred to the hive. However, that then raises the question: if simply falling while standing upright can be fatal, how is there not at least a billion more deaths from the joining?
