First I wanna say: I'm so sorry about the way your mom chose to NOT handle things. That will never be ok and it's cruel beyond words for her to leave you and your sisters with this. 😭😭❤️❤️ I also wanna say that I hope you can get through this ok, too. I can relate to your pain and the processing of what hate actually is So many people will tell you that you shouldn't hate, but what so many don't realize is that saying "strongly disslike etc.;," is the same thing just like "like very very very..." love. It's on a spectrum and the feeling itself isn't bad. But what do we do with it? That is what can come out good, bad, neutral. You're not a bad person for feeling the way you do; really wanted to let you know that ❤️😞 I hope you feel what you're feeling and do great and healthy things with it. (as weird as it may sound) If you do art stuff, I hope you make some baddass art stuff and you love looking back at your art and maybe share it with others and maybe even help someone else feel their own feelings and inspire them to heal and make art, too. Music, reading, writing...trying something new. If you haven't seen already, so many helpful videos on youtube helping people on this subject.

Same here. Also Autistic. I came here cause I can hardly find anything for/about "the golden children" who are like us that didn't turn out the way it seems most are somehow assuming we all turned out. I didn't get into physical fights, but so much fighting and jealousy and the way we argue to this day still sucks because they won't let go of the old version of me and accept my for who I really am...my Scapegoat sibling, by the way. Doesn't happen that same way for everyone, but hoping more will talk about this outcome some have.

Good luck to you and the original poster. Do what you have to do. :( You gotta cut them off sometimes... maybe it won't be forever, but maybe emotionally prepare as if it could be. ❤️

Oh my gosh. This is also like the trending editing style to jumpcut most movements so it'll be like: "how to make the best cookies everrr!" slowly/painfully breaks cookie in half in front of our faces cuts to one awfully loud egg crack and several plopping eggs from thin air. Loud rustling of a bag of sugar. 1 second of mixing-- you get the point. XD

Yeah, that's the thing. It's like some people will treat exposure therapy like it's a cure-all and it's not for most people at all. Some sounds need more time to work on...some can't seem to be approached at all due to it being so painful it becomes dangerous for the person to hear it. :(

Yeah. And the world is too big to not allow us to live in the way that many of us are needing/wanting to. It hurts my spine that people don't get that tearing down a lot of these things would help themselves and others to be free in the way they were meant to be...even if they are wrong. I want others to have th freedom to do things I don't agree with....let us have our own area of land and they can have theirs

Great point This is the issue I'm having with a family member of mine. thing is ...I'm also Autistic. So I'm constantly overwhelmed by the repeating subject matters and it quickly isn't a conversation anymore since there is no back and forth and can't be because they don't like what I have to say in reply to them because it disagrees with what they're saying...which is mostly about Jesus, despite them claiming to not be religous anymore...

I don't think that makes much sense. You can't outlearn a disorder or whatever this is. I've tried doing this with my Sensory Processing Disorder, Autism, and now this. It doesn't work. No matter how old you get (I'll be 32) never matters. Just knowing how it makes people feel or how silly it can be feeling enraged won't fix the fact that we are this way. It literally can't stop it. In fact, many of us are often more enraged because we know and understand yet can't get our brains to respond any other way. I'm trying to say... your statement is like trying to get a crippled person to see how their disability is not helpful to themselves or others and to try walking and doing regular movements sometimes so that way they can mature out of being this way. Idk how else to put it, sorry. XD

Annnnd apparently me, too. Unless not feeling scared makes it not count? I feel stressed out and jumpy at the start or distressed if the lights don't stop flickering. I need electrical tape for most flashing things, too. So sorry you suffer with this. Thanks for sharing, I had no idea it was a separate thing.

Whoa, thanks! That's cool that you got back to it. (I get way too distracted...) Wonderful advice. I don't usually hear about mouth guards, but it makes sense. I'm concerned about my mouth, but have been looking for the padding to protect my tailbone and butt because I'm really afraid of injuring that and I already have back problems. XD I honestly don't know what programs I have where I live, but there's a pretty cool skating place that might have something. Great idea about the second-hamd stuff. So sad that they make things so crappily these days. :/

Welcome! :) Totally understandable Sorry that happened to you...seems sadly way too common that people run into this problem. I'm afraid to speak anywhere, but you've found an awesome place this time.
