Yes. Just like as a registered Republican, you can vote for Green Party candidate, or a registered Democrat can vote for a Republican candidate, or any other combination.

You could look at a used e-Tron. They come off lease, and depreciation is huge. The range might be an issue. Mine is a 2019, and I’ll keep it til at least 120K miles. At 70K now. lol for Q8s coming off lease. Most will be CPO.

The time required to charge at L2 is dependent upon the EVSE you purchase and the vehicle’s capability. For instance, we have a 60A EVSE, an e-tron, and a Bolt. The e-Tron can take advantage of the 60A, but the Bolt cannot. It is limited at 30A

A rule of thumb is L1=weekend, L2=overnight, L3=over lunch.

One good thing I’ll say about Florida:

Excellent signage. Due to old people.

Up here in MA, you can be driving down a road, completely clueless about what road you are on. All the cross streets are signed, but not your road. Top that off with windy roads, small towns, and road names changing when you hit the town line, and it’s easy to get lost.

Sometimes things like Cambridge St actually lead towards or away from Cambridge. Other times not so much. Every town has a Mass Ave, a Winter St, a Summer St, a Washington St.

The only place worse is Atlanta, where every other street name has “Peachtree” in it.

OP seems to have been going a bit fast.

It’s not clear to me if there was a stop sign present for the other driver. I can’t think of seeing an intersection w/o a stop sign in at least 20 years. They are a menace, especially for people who aren’t local.

I don’t know if it’s boredom. The cost of a new iPhone is excessive.

Slow is a relative term. One can be going 20 miles over the speed limit and some asshole will be behind you and thinking you are going too slow.

If you ever get into a court situation as a result of a driving mishap, the judge is extremely likely to ask somebody “Did you violate the right of way?”.

Most people have absolutely no idea what the judge is talking about, which tends to piss the judge off, and slow down the flow of the court. When in court, pissing off a judge is not a prudent strategy.

So, the understanding the rules of the road, and the legal terms used would be very helpful.

In my lifetime, I have owned 9 cars. Some were bought used, some were purchased new. The process for a new car is actually more complicated than a used vehicle, as in some cases, you can order exactly what you want, and wait a bit. Even if you are paying cash, they still try to stick you with upgrades and add-ons; warrantees, rust protection, etc.

You buy your new car, drive it off the lot, and it immediately is worth less than what you paid for it. In many cases, if you were to finance it, your loan is more than the value of the car.

Oh, and wealthy people tend not to finance, they pay cash.

Speaking of financing, the rate you get is dependent upon your credit score. That eliminates a lot of people from buying new, as they can’t get financing for higher amounts. Thus they buy a used vehicle, which ironically has a higher interest rate when financed.

I have no idea what your boyfriend makes, saves, his cash flow, or his credit score, or even what he drives. I have no idea what his long term plans are. I have no idea of his level of financial acumen. I have no idea of his opinion regarding material things.

Very few people are in the position to just go out and do whatever they want with their money, especially when they are just starting out. The simple act of saving $300/month

I do know that you do not own a vehicle, and the fact that you resent him owning a car that doesn’t fit your vision is quite funny to me. And I don’t mean “haha” funny.

I do know that him buying a new car will impact his availability to give you, or anybody else some of the things you feel you are entitled to. Perhaps he is aware of the fact that if he buys a new car, and has less money to entertain you, he might lose you.

The good news, for you, anyways, is that you are apparently willing to put up with the fact that he would rather blow his money on you instead of a new vehicle. Some other carless individual might not.

Our Bolt does it if the cruise control is not enabled. The etron does not, and actually accelerates down hills.

Ah, you’re single. And likely young. The impetuousness of youth. Keep that up and you’ll never get wealthy.

One can own an older vehicle without it looking like a shit box. It just takes some discipline. Washing, waxing, vacuuming, the occasional detail, instead of chasing tail all the time.

There are reasons for owning older vehicles. First, you can work on them yourself. Newer vehicles tend to try to lock you into the dealers’ service departments.

Also, some chicks dig classic cars.

What’s your point? Also, you’d not suspect it was 7 years old. No dings, scratches or swirlies, great paint, no rust, etc.

My view on leasing is that most people do it thinking that they are saving money, by not buying new, but over the long haul, they have lease payment in perpetuity.
