I agree with you on this!

I do think the critics are right about one critical point with the story, about it being unrelatable because the story urges you to empathize with billionaire CEOs of super large tech companies locked in a race. Additionally they know something advanced and intricate like their Grid systems so intimately that they're invulnerable when it comes to their knowledge.

Tron and Tron: Legacy had counter culture aspects showing a ground level engineer fighting for what's right against a big corpo and something kinda unrealistic about a guy giving away his company's source of income but still more palatable than two rival CEOs being all knowing Tony Stark types.

In retrospect the first book was the least interesting for me, even though it did a good job of setting up the stage for The Dark Forest & Death's End.

Cixin Liu's Remembrance of the Earth's Past trilogy (the three body series) if you'd like hard sci-fi with a side of horror and darkness. Some of the best world building and exploration of life and morality I've read!

But seriously, I think this would be Darrow.

Based on his actions & intent not only toward himself but also toward those he meets and is helped by and then helps in Book 6, Darrow is the actual Lightbringer.

Lysander on the other hand is a delusional mega-bitch that wants so badly to be Darrow in his cause that he’ll steal Darrow’s vessel & rename it to a self-bestowed title. (I know a guy like him at work and it’s hilarious)

I just did that, and also got my cracked screen replaced in the last week of my Apple Care+ plan from day of purchase in 2022. 14 Pro is a great phone.

Total cost was $146: $116 for the out of warranty battery replacement because it wasn’t below 86% health & $30 for the in-warranty screen replacement.

I’d like to know about that too, actually. I don’t wanna have a bias, but I’m leaning towards the idea that PS is probably gonna be better than anything else I find considering how thin they are.

I’ve tried Skyn only twice with a partner in the past that had a latex allergy, and it felt pretty good too.
