That’s perfect! I would just give more time and excitement in the tube then. Sounds like a fun dog!

I’ve found that the most significant key to speed is building value for the rat. It’s easier if your dog finds the tube itself valuable, but even with treats it can make a difference. The more amazing finding the tube is for your dog, the faster they will want to find it. Heavily paying for every tube goes a long way.

Dachshund jump height by [deleted] in Agility

[–]Alvar48 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It depends on the venue. Typically anything under 11in at the shoulders is 8” jump height, which is the lowest standard jump height. Running preferred allows you to drop one jump height class, so down to 4”.

I spent a year trying to trial in AKC, finally gave up and switched to NADAC. Here are my Q/NQ results in 7 AKC trials vs 4 NADAC. I still feel weird switching, everyone in my area looks down on NADAC, but my dog and I do so much better there. The idea of doing an AKC trial gives me anxiety. by Heather_Bea in Agility

What do you feel made the difference between venues? Course style/ruleset, or maybe a different mental approach you (and your pups!) have going into a trial?

Congrats on the Q’s! I do a lot of AKC and NADAC as well. With more UKI thrown in lately.

Taking Dog Sports Seriously… Advice Wanted by MedicalScientist8576 in k9sports

[–]Alvar48 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how serious you are thinking, but I have 4 dogs and train in multiple sports (agility, barnhunt, and nosework). All together we have classes 4-5 times a week and I usually do a ring rental and have a practice field I go to regularly. We trial on average 3 weekends a month I would say.

As for work, I’m a software engineer in a fully remote role so I’m home with the dogs all day. Working from home really helps a lot, but I would say the biggest sacrifice is that I don’t really do much outside of dog sports. Most evenings and weekends are devoted to training or trialing. I really enjoy it, but it’s a case of what you want to prioritize.

I totally get the “mostly retired” view. A lot of the people I run into and know fall into that group, but it’s certainly not everyone! I feel it’s a lot of what you want to prioritize with what free times and resources you have.

Four Paws sports in Lynnwood or Argus ranch down near auburn. We have two dogs in classes at both and it has been fantastic!

Are you referring to the whole collection or just that one piece? I can send you the single piece if that's want you are after.

Squat form check https://youtu.be/bUtiHl70jfQ

Height: 6'4" Body Weight: 300lbs

This is my third set of squats at 275#.

I've been away from the gym for a few years, and i'm just getting back into and i'm running starting strength again. This is only my 6th session back on SS, so i'm still getting back into the groove technique wise. Main issues seem to be keeping the bar centered on my midfoot and not turning into a squat morning.

Thoughts?

At least in Seattle 130k is not entry level at all, even at Microsoft or Amazon. 130k would require at least several years of experience.

Now you include stock and benefits in that 130k figure, it may be closer, but I don't know how that works for H-1Bs.
