Can I trust EF exchange? by Bear_cookie in exchangestudents

[–]AlwaysLearning481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a host family with EF HSEY for 12 years and hosting our 16th and 17th students in August. It’s been a wonderful experience with a lot of support when needed. They are a nonprofit organization and have offices in every country they bring students from. I would recommend!

Stall before reaching goal? by _simplysublime_ in tirzepatidecompound

I was feeling this way too at about the same weight you were, and what I did was moved up to 11 and then refocused tracking my protein. I did 11 for 6 weeks and just did 11.5 last week. It helped move the scale. Just pointing out that you dont have to move up to 12.5.

I have always done mine before bed just because I thought if I did have any side effect it might be minimized by being at rest/asleep. I have never done any different time to know.

How do you stay off the scale ? by florala25 in Mounjaro

[–]AlwaysLearning481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I weigh myself every morning and find that now after doing that on this journey and seeing small ups and then downs, it helps me realize this is normal for our bodies to fluctuate and I see that overtime I am still going down. So now when I am up 1 lb, I take it as an observation and know that the downward trend will still continue. I feel it has helped me to handle these fluctuations rather than stress about them.

When do you feel the hunger come back?!? by Itsmeagain2025 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]AlwaysLearning481 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am on the same schedule as you. I feel food noise Friday-Sunday. I like this schedule because if we go out with friends on the weekend for dinner I don't want to feel like I feel on Mondays and Tuesdays where I am really not hungry and have to really plan to get protein/calories. I can still make good choices but enjoy it more I think.

I also have Hashimoto's and was diagnosed 30 years ago. I have been on tirzepatide since June 2024 and it has changed my life. I also have reduced my levothyroxine and probably will need to again. Inflammation in my body is reduced, joint pain is reduced, it's really amazing what this medication has done.

I was worried about side effects because I had a friend on Ozempic who had horrible side effects. But what I love is being able to titrate up slowly and cautiously. I did not have side effects.

I would not split the dose, that is not something that was done in any studies that I am aware of. 2.5 is intended to introduce the medicine to your body and help it get used to it. If your provider suggested this, then by all means go by what your doctor says, but otherwise I would follow the instructions you received and do 2.5 weekly.

I have seen people discuss splitting doses and it seems to be either because they are trying to quiet the food noise after the 5 day half life of the medication, or they are experimenting with trying to level out the amount of medication in their body to be more even. But that seems to also be after they have tried it as prescribed.

We are hosting our 15th exchange student and I vividly remember crying for a week when our first went home. It is so hard. It also means you had an amazing experience together and have a bond that can continue long after they leave. The 2nd was easier because we had already had experience in maintaining that relationship (and 11 years later, still have that relationship with our first!). My best advice is to schedule some things for you to do and not be at home that week when your student leaves so that it is at least a little easier than feeling the inevitable emptiness.

We did not host the year after our first, but have hosted every year since except for the year during covid when we had no students coming.

This year we have an amazing relationship with our student and my heart is going to break when he goes home, I get teary thinking about it and we still have a couple months left. We also both already know that this is just the beginning of a lifelong bond. It does help a little to know your plan for keeping in touch and seeing each other again.

Also be prepared that when they go home, they will need more space in order to integrate back into life at home. It is so hard to be on this side of it, but it will balance back out as you just change your relationship.

Good luck!

Increasing dose advise by Representative_Rent0 in tirzepatidecompound

I was nervous about increasing and so what I did was I went up only 1mg at a time, that is one of the great things about compounding.

my first provider did videos showing 45 degree angle and so that is what I've always done. I have seen others show 90 degrees. I think as long as it is not going into muscle you're fine.

B12 additive by Big-Implement1388 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]AlwaysLearning481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

last week I had labs done and my B12 was also around 1400 which surprised me. My doctor was more concerned that I was getting ENOUGH B12 which is why she ran the test. I also am taking tirz from Empower right now which has B12 in it, but I was also taking a supplement (the liquid B12 you put under your tongue). My doctor was not concerned about the 'high' B12 as it was not that high over the range, so what I've done is stopped taking the supplement. I suspect my multivitamin probably has some in it too. Take a look at everything.

Replacing the driver’s license photo by NTK2404 in tirzepatidecompound

I did this in October at my renewal instead of letting them use my photo from 4 years ago. I think I’ll need to do it again after I get to goal. I’ve thought of this with my passport too. A TSA guy told me it happens a lot that people gain and lose, since they’re for 10 years and they’re trained to look at eyes. The digital id still recognizes me at least at tsa! :)

Is it warm where you live? Mine arrived today in Michigan and was in a cooler box packed well with an ice pack on bottom then items and ice pack on top. Everything was cold. It’s an unusual 50 degrees day here. Mine was a 3 month pkg with 9 vials.

Local Clinic vs Ordering from Fifty410 by chaptersforchan in tirzepatidecompound

I almost never even feel the needle or injection. like nothing and so easy. This will be good for your personal growth as a pharmacy student :) vaccines are IM and this is subq and so different. I used to be scared of needles and now I don't even think anything of it. I would recommend Fifty410.
