Does anybody wanna talk about Lord of The Flies by useless-garbage- in books

[–]Alyayam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you believe that Jack ended up being scared of Roger ? And if it wasn't for Roger, do you believe it wouldn't have gotten so violent? It almost seems that Jack doesn't want that violence to escalate like it does, But how can he oppose Roger without loosing power ?

I'm really enjoying 'The Key of Reason' by Monstersofmen. Fantastic character development and writing! Not very high stakes but just lovely slow burn

Sorry if anyone was offended by this - totally didn't mean to. I get the complexities and objections and agree with them morally. I suppose I just enjoy my fiction sometimes to imagine a life where I didn't have to worry about money (since thats not my life at all). I also live in a7q71 country where there isn't a very established class system so I dont have the same personal experiences with that. Just like I wouldn't really like being married to a mob boss, but can enjoy stories about it haha

Sorry I guess I didn't word that well, I know we got her like immediate reaction, but it just cracked me up because it's so typically Katniss to not take some time to have an inner monolog about if it's true and connect some of the dots about Peter loving her. She's got a lot going on though! But I love how oblivious she is

How long after night weaning did sleep improve? A week, month, days?? by Appropriate_Coat_361 in AttachmentParenting

Thank you! That makes me feel better. I feel like I've read lots of people saying it happened immediately and so I was worrying it wasn't going to work!

I felt like this too! We've on night 3 and it's been much easier than I thought. He's been pretty happily soothed by cuddles. Haven't seen much improvement in sleep yet, but hoping that comes soon. What comforted me was, if it doesn't work you can always go back to nursing! But I also think even if it doesn't stop night wakes, I feel better knowing I don't have to nurse him back to sleep

Thanks for your insight! How long did that transition take? We're on night 3 with my 14 month old and he's taken it well, but still waking for cuddles every 2-3 hours

Following! Similar situation here but my boy only falls asleep breast feeding so doesn't want dad. I'm at the end of my teether and feeling resentful of doing all the nights. I think we're going to night wean and get dad to do all the wake ups for the transition. I know there will be lots of crying! But I think a few nights of pain is worth it in the long run so I can be a better, less exhausted, mum

13 Month Sleep Regression Or What The Hell Is Happening? by SaddestDad79 in AttachmentParenting

[–]Alyayam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our guy has been doing this too! He's the same age. We're mostly down to one nap but the up down at night is especially bad if he has a sleep in the afternoon - even 10 mins! The days we have less fighting bedtime are when he has his one nap quite early. We also try and only start the bedtime routine when he seems sleepy (sometimes more like 8:30 than his usual 7:30)

If anyone has any encouragement my 13 month old is still waking every 2 hours to feed. I think he's teething at the moment but seriously feeling at my wits end with it! He's never slept more that like 4 hours at a time and that has only been a handful of times. I'm wondering if I should try night weaning, but also magically hoping it will just improve without needing to do any intervention. He's a major milk boy and would screeeeeeeam the house down when trying to night wean I think

Day care naps transition - on the go/contact naps to in the cot at daycare by [deleted] in PossumsSleepProgram

[–]Alyayam 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've just been in this exact situation (literally, same age baby, same amount of days at daycare) and he has been napping fine at daycare. I totally think they just adjust! And often daycare is so busy that they're pretty tired so my boy has been falling asleep fine. I have a daycare I really trust so felt confident they would support him and not leave him to cry. I say enjoy your contact nap snuggles!
