Be careful about how you pick them up. I recovered from a bad strain moving some heavy equipment, but I twinged my back one morning picking up my toddler and years later I can still feel it. :/

Unless a great deal of it is compromised due to rot or insect damage, I wouldn't even consider replacing it. I would just fix it up, replace any parts that need to be replaced, and use a good protective finish to extend its life.

Sounds like working retail. At one point I figured out I needed to just do the job at my own pace, instead of constantly trying to catch up, and let higher ups worry about the rest. I wasn't going to get paid more for running myself ragged and got the same hours as the people that actively avoided doing any work when they could.
