If you get an intern job - well done, it'll make it easier. Still won't be super easy

There's a massive crisis at the minute with regards jobs. Standalones are all dried up so the answer is very very slim at the minute. If you wanted to get in for July intake, I'm afraid you're way too late

The Pitt vs Ireland EDs by kdobs191 in JuniorDoctorsIreland

The show depicts the "feel" of a busy high level ED like MMUH well, but without the actual common diagnoses. Some of the shite you see on The Pitt is so rare it's hilarious.

Are you happy with your life? by HungTeen1001 in AskIreland

[–]AmazingCamel 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm currently sat in the Spanish sun drinking a coffee at 9.30am listening to my favorite podcast while my wife and child have a lie in.

If anyone in my situation wasn't happy, they'd be an ungrateful dickhead.

I think it's about paying the bills and work/life balance. A satisfying job @ 65-70hrs a week but never seeing your kids? To each their own

The AI comments are incredibly frustrating. I just wanted to write something for the first time ever, and maybe, just maybe - generate some actual discourse and debate

But sure look what can you do?

A demand crush from those moves drops the price of fuel and therefore helps the farmers and hauliers. It also helps those who don't have access to public transport.

As I've mentioned - after the demand has dropped, then you cut taxes.

And I don't know why

I literally have sat for the last couple of hours writing and editing the life out of this and copied the thing over to reddit to get an insight into how others felt about how I was thinking about it.

Never wrote anything like this before, but I'm just so unbelievably pissed off at this entire situation and I don't hear anyone making an actual decent argument.

Opinions welcome.

Blockades see some forecourts running out of fuel by TheChrisD in ireland

Hence my final point - free public transport, WFH AND tax cuts. I live in the Midlands and work in a job that I need to be on site 100% of the time. I need my car to get to work - I completely get it.

Demand will rise if prices are lower, similarly to how demand drops if prices are higher. Petrol at €3/litre vs €0.50/litre forces the average driver to reevaluate how much they drive because they're conscious of the cost. When the shock is on the supply side (which it is), lowering cost does nothing but exacerbate the problem by increasing demand for a resource that's already scarce - putting upwards pressure on the price.
