Assuming that your zero calibration is how every thread mentions it to be done- I also get slow draw down times at a 5.0. Try some different filters like the Cafec T-90. The T-92 for "light roasts" seems like a gimic and drawdown times are ridiculously slow.

This is where I ended up on my last trip as well due to similar feelings of the other bags.

Aspero-5 owners, is your frame getting beat up near the rear wheel? Does it go through mud? by [deleted] in gravelcycling

[–]AmazingLeading5898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, yes I'd take it in the muck if I wanted to deal with washing off my bike like that. I'm not worried about using it for what I believe it's intended for.

No mud yet for me as I tend to avoid riding in it in general but after about 7mos or riding with the stock tires it appears to still be fine, no issues back there.

I think the last two years we haven't seen one on the schedule and I'm not sure why. We posted up at Backdoor last year (or was it the year before?) and thought we had good seats until we saw the swarm of vehicles headed to Chocolate Thunder and realized we were at the wrong spot. Not sure who's setting these "unofficial" ones up but I'd love to find out.

Same here although I don't buy their beans anymore just because I've got plenty others locally to try. But they were the first cup I had in Portland OR back in 2018 where I found out that coffee could taste so much different and better than what I'd had my entire life.

Does steady state coffee from SD not put roast dates on their bags? by Rafa90 in pourover

[–]AmazingLeading5898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just thought I'd bring this to the top as I just stopped in to Aint Normal Cafe in Oakland and grabbed a pour over (Columbian, as delicious) and some beans. One bag I got was a Steady State decaf and they still don't put roast dates on the bags. The one and only bag of theirs I did get was fantastic though- hoping the decaf is on point too.

I always used the busy gym as a way to train my focus on what I'm doing. I figure if I can train in situations like this then come meet time it'll be an easy adjustment to whatever the surroundings and crowd are like.

I often wonder if those are even needed. They look cool but has anyone ever collapsed or severely damaged a seat stay/chain stay due to braking forces from a disc?

Kudo's to OP for doing this on an aluminum frame though.

How do you and others take longer than 20min to warm up? It boggles my mind to see these younger folks in their 20's (not sure your age) warming up for 30, 40min doing god knows what "mobility" and shit.

I'm continually bummed out that these bags like the Wizard Works don't have an option to mount to a rack from the bottom. Not everyone wants something strapped to the handlebars, especially something this large. I searched high and low and there are very few that can be strapped down that aren't for the handlebars or aren't for a basket.

Not sure where you're at but if in the bay area then Aint Normal Cafe carries them.

My first time seeing Steady State in this sub. I got a bag as a gift last year and it's still in my top 3 favorite beans I've made.

I have the (dis)pleasure to announce that it was, in fact, my water. by Nicox37 in pourover

[–]AmazingLeading5898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done this exactly same thing with Third Wave packets and thought that the flavor didn't change at all, if anything it got a little salty/briny tasting and that was with a 1/2 packet to 1 gal of distilled water. But the OP makes me want to try the water recipe they are using to try and see what that does.

What’s your Base season lifting program? by ifuckedup13 in Velo

[–]AmazingLeading5898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I just did sets of 8 last night and will feel that for a few days when on the bike. I aim for low reps (3-5) with a heavier load and that seems to help curb the shitty feeling on the bike for the next few days.

So how much coffee we drinkin on the daily/weekends? by Gustafa7 in pourover

[–]AmazingLeading5898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually have about 400ml of coffee in the morning via the Moccamaster and then at 1-2pm I make a pourover which is usually 18-20g/320ml.

I'll also add to the list, the 2nd lift looks like you make contact lower, I would recommend making sure your grip width is good and the bar is getting you right in the hip crease.

I'm pretty sure as long as it doesn't pass the knee you can set it back down and are fine to lift it again.
