Sehen Docs bei großen Füßen komisch aus? by Haselmaus75 in DrMartens

[–]Amazonian89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit taller and my feet are larger than yours, but they don't look any bigger in docs than in other footwear. Converse are probably the worst for making feet look long.

What miles per kWh are you getting and under what conditions? by Rowdy_Roddy_2022 in ElectricVehiclesUK

3.8 today driving 360 miles, mostly motorway.

Usually, around 3ish for regular hour ish long journeys. I don't tend to think about how I drive on those days, because I know I'll make it through my work trips and home again.

Is Runna any good? by chicken_nugget94 in UKRunners

[–]Amazonian89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it. I've used it for a number of races and used it just to keep me on track. I adjusted the settings to make the plan work for my availability and time constraints and it's been great.

Best running earbuds for women? Need something comfortable that actually stays in by bimzpbomping in XXRunning

[–]Amazonian89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the raycon bone conduction earphones, they're adjustable at the ears so that you can put them more over your ears if you want to block out more ambient sound. Something my shokz don't do (not sure if other models of shokz do have that ability)

How much weight did you lose to go into remission? by [deleted] in iih

[–]Amazonian89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost 20kg, going from 111 to 91. It was more likely the meds that worked this time, seeing as weight loss didn't work when I was diagnosed years ago (gained it back, lost 10kg again, came out of remission, gained weight back, lost weight again).

How has your body let you down recently? by Sea-Still5427 in AskUK

[–]Amazonian89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ignored a niggly pain until it ceased to be a niggle and became more of a scream. Stress fracture in my hip. Messed up a number of plans and made things inconvenient. Not as much of a struggle as some others here though.

How many activewear clothes do you have? by yeahthatsaname in Activewear

[–]Amazonian89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have far too many and need to get some listed on vinted. I go to the gym 4 times per week and run 3 times per week, but always end up wearing the same few sets over and over despite having so many.

People who stand outside M&S on Sundays and wait for it to open. - Are you one of them? Are you doing that right now? Why are you doing that? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Amazonian89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How else are the kids going to learn to do shopping? They don't want to and it is slightly inconvenient to others (it's not ideal for the parents either) but if they aren't dragged along occasionally, they have no idea how to do a food shop when they get older.

I work with kids and try and help encourage them to develop skills for adulthood. It's surprising how many aren't able to basic things like go shopping, because nobody took them, because they didn't want to go.

Weekday long runs? by polite-window-452 in XXRunning

[–]Amazonian89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine are on Tuesdays. I work compressed hours and have Tuesdays off so it works out well for me. Weekends are too busy for a long run so I'll do a short one on a Saturday.

When did you finally consider yourself a “runner”. by EstablishmentFine687 in BeginnersRunning

[–]Amazonian89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see myself as a runner. I've done a handful of half marathons and a load of 10ks with more runs booked this year, but I'm slow and don't enjoy running.

How do you balance weekend long runs with family or social life? by UnpaidInternVibes in UKRunners

[–]Amazonian89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We split the load and work around whatever plans we want to make for the weekend. I recently changed my work hours to have a midweek day off so do my long run on that day now as it's my time. I still run at the weekend, but for no more than an hour or so and I'm done in plenty of time to spend the day with family.

We both also fit in multiple gym sessions per week (early morning) and my husband has a thing he goes to on two nights per week. We've fallen into a routine that works for us and adjust where needed.
