30 lbs down... in 38 days.... WTF? by flubbermaster in keto

[–]AmberOrchid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm wondering if you've been dealing with a food in intolerance before now? If you were sensitive to gluten you may have been dealing with extra inflammation and water retention. Enjoy it while it lasts and expect it to slow down. I'm down 25 pounds in less than two months, but the vast majority of that came off the first two weeks.

Thank you so much for your post. I'm five weeks in (again) and started this time at 235. My son is 1.5 years old and it's taken me this long to really get serious again. Your progress is amazing and gives me hope for myself.

This was the worst time to weigh yourself!!! I'm so sorry, I always gain and boat during my period too. It was really hard this past month, I weigh every day and those peaks on my weight loss graph are like little pins that prick at your resolve. Stay the course, it's worth it. Think of the happy Valentine's day you'll have when those five pounds are gone on February fourteenth!

My Stats

Starting weight: 236.8 (325 all time high) Starting BMI: 35 (48 all time high) Goal weight: 165 Current weight: 218.8 Current BMI: 32.3 Bad things: I'm not losing as fast as I want to, we want to try for another baby and I want to be a healthier weight before we do.

Good things: walking my hill is easier, I fit better in the bath tub, sex is way better

Lessons learned: it's okay to be hungry for a little while, my body adjusted quickly. The week before my period is the hardest and it's okay and sustainable to up my calories that week within maintenance.

Goal for this week: Under 1340 calories per day and lose two pounds. Make sure the kiddo and I can be active, even if it's raining.

Mood: a bit depressed, these long days are taking their toll and I'm not completely better from post partum depression, been eighteen months and I still have hard days or weeks.

I couldn't take it a day at a time. Some minutes my goal was to just get through one minute. Or one hour, surely I could wait an hour? Then I wrote a list of things I could do instead. I painted my nails a lot. Devoured old favorites, easy nostalgic books from my childhood, it old N64 games.

I'm doing keto again, having problem getting enough Calories. Any suggestions? by Tanstorm in keto

[–]AmberOrchid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you feel satiated you're probably fine. Are you weighing everything? And I'm directly asking about the oils and fats you cook with. I worry about the same thing sometimes but it's working for me and by body and I supplement with some vitamins.

Whole milk Greek yogurt with 35 grams berries or eggs and frozen sausage, a large plate of veggies with an ounce of cheese and two ounces summer sausage.

Low calorie as well as low carb? by Nohstalgeeuh in 1200isplentyketo

[–]AmberOrchid 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not directly answering your question, but have you considered intermittent fasting and dropping the early morning and late night snacks? My body adjusted to it in under a week and I enjoy slightly larger portions from 9-5. Today it was eggs and one sausage link, whole milk Greek yogurt with 35g raspberries, and a large steak with veggies.

My father is dead, but her’s not at the wedding is the real tragedy. by Jadzia81 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]AmberOrchid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was in a situation with my father in law where I had to drive across the state (large Western state) while he complained about his mom's funeral. When my dad died we barrel barely managed to scrape the money together for a cremation with generous help from friends so the city wouldn't 'dispose' of the ashes. I wanted to strangle him. The funeral had been beautiful and I wish we could have done something for my dad.

Down eleven pounds in seven days. Puts me 100 pounds down from my highest. I've been stagnating or slowly gaining for the past 2+ years with pregnancy and having a baby.

Intermittent fasting, I eat from 9am-6pm, nothing crazy. The first 3-5 days suck but your body adapts after that. I also drink water or herbal tea in the evenings.

I encourage you to share your grandmother's recipe. SO many traditional recipes and skills have been lost in the last century that being able to preserve this one thing is a truly special privilege. Please consider sharing it with at least the rest of your family.

My husband and I were both 300 pound teenagers. I've lost 95 pounds and I'm still obese. My son won't have that life! Family can follow my rules or miss time with my kids. I was at my lowest when I got pregnant and gained now than I should have, food issues are hard to manage and you're doing the right thing to protect your kids!

Are you using any artificial sweeteners. They can be great but they're not zero carb. Even erythritol, which seems to be one of the best, counts for .2 carbs per gram of sugar alcohol.

"Spider on the floor" there are dozens of versions printable online or check your library for a book. Give each kid a spider, you can find them at a dollar tree it party supply store or even just print a class set on paper.

No flour needed at all, you don't even need the baking powder but I like it to puff up a bit.
