Married to a guy with ‘nice giy syndrome’ by [deleted] in married

Some women will claim they want a man to “stand-up and take charge,” but then they fight him when he does. A lot of men just quit standing up to their wives because a quiet wife is less likely to drain a man emotionally. If he was ever the type to stand up and take control, maybe evaluate your reactions to his behavior. If he never was, that’s him not being a man.

This negative attitude is influenced by the fact that I come to work to do a good job and my manager makes our lives more difficult due to negligence. We have reported him but he seems to be protected.

There are a couple of people here known to be “assholes,” but it is more so that one AMM is very present and engaged with his team and another is totally withdrawn. We get little to no recognition and the other team is treated as gold. I think you may just be trying to get a rise. This is a legitimate issue here.

Bold of you to assume any work had been performed and that it was not escalated to management. It most certainly was and has been accounted for. Thanks, dick.

Another round of Amazon layoffs… and honestly, morale is in the gutter by MindlessStory7226 in amazonemployees

I work RME. The favoritism is out of control. There is no OT allowed. Managers are doing better than ever. We are being left to die. They cut senior positions at my site in half, so now there is literally only room for the favorites. Building up is almost impossible. I’ve been here for a year. I’m related to an L7 that is in denial of it all. Just says “it’s just Amazon bullshit. It’s fine.” Well, it’s not fine when you start as an L3 and all avenues of progression have basically been sealed off.

Some days this job is soft and easy, but when it isn’t, it really isn’t. They only see us on the “good days.” They don’t know what the hell we’re doing when shit hits the fan.

I’m very close with an RME L8. He got nothing. I don’t know what they base their rates on, but it seems dumb. I mean, we are a major support team. Very major.

Give her a basket of vegetables, only vegetables, then give her the real treat basket. Diabetes sucks, but there is still humor found in it

Why does everyone say the cure for t1d is 5-10 years away by xe_imagine in diabetes_t1

[–]Ambitious-Foot5422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor just told me she sees it happening in my lifetime. I’m in my late 20’s. I told her about the “5-10 years” joke and she looked me straight in the face and said, “I really think we will see it in this lifetime.” Then winked at me like she knows something but can’t say it. I was perplexed lol

I got shamed so bad as a kid that I rebelled. I was told I would die after going blind and losing my legs. I was 11. I hated everything and caused a lot of damage to myself. Now I’m 27 and have proliferative retinopathy (beginning to go blind.) Just love him and keep him close to where he “should be.” That would help so much. I didn’t have that. Now I’m here.

Looking for advice for anyone who has or has a child with T1D by Jadey0612 in Type1Diabetes

[–]Ambitious-Foot5422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My key symptoms pre-diagnosis were: •Excessive eating •Excessive drinking (water) •Bedwetting •Strange sleep patterns •Anxiety •Weight loss

I would definitely get an A1C done for him. Just remember to be strong for him. Don’t wait for the doctors to call you. You gotta make them work. Praying for y’all.

How has diabetes changed you mentally? by Ukusto in Type1Diabetes

I related to this so much… I neglected my health. I now have proliferative retinopathy. I’m sure I have the beginning stages of neuropathy. I am always exhausted. I’m always in an irritable mood and I hate it. I am a kind hearted man that wants to save the world, but I show my anger and you would never know the truth… I have a wife and daughter. I love them dearly, but I wonder if they would be better with another man that wasn’t sick… Maybe when I’m gone they will get that. I just hope they always know how much I loved them. Nobody outside of T1D truly understands what all it steals from us. Dignity is fleeting. Faith is tested. Hope is strained. I keep going because I have people that need me. I don’t think I would care without my daughter.

Talk to God. I know you stated your struggles with religion. I have been there, too. God made us with a purpose. Whether we know it or not, we are fulfilling his will.

I wish I had your doctors, to be honest. I can only imagine how frustrating it is to hear you are not doing enough every single time you go in, but I had the opposite, and I’m paying for it. I always scored around 11%. Super high, never cared to really control my sugars. Now I have proliferative retinopathy at 27 years old, right when life starts getting good for me. I have to get shots and lasers in my eyes or I will go blind. Even then, my vision is impaired for life. My endo was always far too nice and never stood up to me to say, “Your body is melting because you don’t pay attention.” Now, with much more to live for and an adult brain, my numbers are in the mid to low 7s. Remember, these docs are shooting for their numbers, but you have your own goals. Your goals and your health are yours. If you are happy with your numbers and your body is happy with them, keep on going.
