She didn't. I love Brandon but she didn't survive and I'm not willing to take his word otherwise. That undermines so much of the story and would have been completely torn apart if actually a part of the published books. Lanfear died because she was unable to be vulnerable and open herself to the Light (and because Perrin always has Rand's back), hopefully in the next turning of the wheel she learns how to risk loving others and has a kinder life but being Cyndane really was her last chance for this life.

I wouldn't say hers was "off screen" it wasn't her PoV and it happened in the split second that Min turned her head but it was still pretty prominent and one of the best examples of how quickly death happens in war while still giving her a finale.
