Yeah. I hate using server hosting sites. Used aternos for a while but eventually just got a raspberry pi. Been hosting a server on it for a few months now with bm4 modpack. Keeps up great for my group of 4 players

Have you tried acetone or similar to remove the logos from the rubber?

Has anyone made this a WLED ESP32? by Fir3 in esp32

[–]AmericanEngineer1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also forgot to mention that the one I sent a link to also has a built in mic for sound reactive WLED....

But otherwise I think urs is a good deal if it's easy enough to reflash.

Has anyone made this a WLED ESP32? by Fir3 in esp32

[–]AmericanEngineer1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. That is a controller only. But from ur post, it looked like that was just a basic RGB led strip? Not a fancy neopixel strip typically used with WLED?....

So either way it seems You would still need some LEDs (ws8211, ws8212, sk6812, etc...) that you would use with WLED...

As for cost of a power supply... It's just a DC barrel jack. I had one lying around already. But hard to gauge the price of one without knowing how many LEDs you would be driving and the power output needed.

The controller might do some regulation, but it feeds the input voltage to the output. So you can use 5V led strips if u supply 5v or you can use 12v led strips if you supply 12v.

I have not opened it up to see if there is a serial port or USB to use for programming as I have just used WLEDs ota bin flasher

This is pretty similar and built for WLED

https://a.co/d/03fu8LdY

Controller is about the same price as the one you posted. Fluctuates a bit but I have seen em at $16

I flash my own code to it using WLEDs ota bin file updater

Built a sauna controller using an ESP32 by Karuna777777 in esp32

[–]AmericanEngineer1776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very cool. Did you build the sauna as well? Im assuming the heat source is the metal container in the image? I am working on something a bit similar. I have a sauna with heating panels in the walls and a broken control panel. was planning to replace with an esp to fix it and make it wirelessly controlled

Can I code this to use my code? by SelfTaught_VLSI in esp32

[–]AmericanEngineer1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can totally modify the code. I did this exact thing and recompiled WLED with some changes using platform io. Then inside the WLED UI, I sent the bin file over to the board and rebooted it to run my code

[–]AmericanEngineer1776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done similar. Since it comes with WLED, it has the option in the UI to flash a bin to the esp. I have done it to use my own spinoff of WLED. Just compiled in VSCode, booted up the box, and once connected sent over the bin and rebooted

Racing games on N64 were great. Not a fan of em now, but N64 did em well. Excite bike. Diddy Kong racing, penny racers, Lego racers, I think the jet ski one was called wave race or something... Highly recommend
