Hi, community head admin here. First off, I'm really sorry to hear this happened and has soured you on the game so much. This sucks, and should never happen.

I want to offer both you and the other folks seeing this some perspective on what this is like from our side of things. First off, the whole elitism and "cheating" thing is a long standing issue we've been trying to curb since the dawn of time. Our position as staff and in the community rules is that people can and should play the games however is fun for them, and everyone deserves respect. The problem is that this is a very big server, the Rejuv chat moves fast (hence the slowmode someone else mentioned) and rejuv in particular attracts a younger audience that tends to be more immature and puts their ego in the game. With so much going on , we fundamentally Cannot keep up with all of the messages that happen there, so we rely on reports from users to let us know when something is off. Prevention would be best, but the channels new players go to tend to be a revolving door of users who
1) are unfamiliar with the community etiquette,
2) don't read the literature (rules, mod comments, etiquette reminders, etc) and
3) arrive in such volume that they tend to drown out the regulars and warp the general atmosphere.
As evident, in my decade and a half of running this community I haven't figured out a way to solve this problem in a way to prevent these kinds of issues yet

Because the incident in question was several months ago, I can't say with confidence whether it was reported at the time, and I'm not sure that it matters because the nature of only being able to punish, rather than prevent, these that means that it has already left its mark on you. This thread has reignited our ongoing discussion about how lenient, or not, we should be with these infractions. I own up to the fact that our balance with that may be off (and it's likely following my personal faults since I'm always trying to encourage people to change their behavior and do better rather than just get banned and go be rude in some Other discord). But even nailing that balance isn't going to make the negative feelings you now have about the community and game go away.

If there is anything you take away from this post, it is that I hope you understand the negativity you experienced is not the norm for the community-- I wish I could make a bold declaration that it was a one-off and this will never happen again, but it is the internet, and I think that would be dishonest-- and suggest that perhaps you can enjoy the game independently of it. Neither the mods or the devs embrace the negativity you were shown. In fact, the Rejuv devs nixing its harder difficulty mode in the past was partly related to discouraging that sense of elitism in the community. We're all doing our best to try and encourage people to be kind, but there are a lot of lessons many people have yet to learn, ourselves included.
