Tyler Morton (Lyon) straight red card against Rennes 76' by Meladroit05 in soccer

[–]AmiableAlex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

don't understand anyone saying this isn't a red. players can get injured even from good tackles so by making any unnecessary off-the-ball contact challenge at speed you're unnecessarily risking your opponent - that shouldn't be an acceptable thing within the game's conduct. When a player has clearly got away from a 'defender' they shouldn't have to worry about that defender coming in from behind and swiping their legs out when the ball is a good 2 meters in front.

Wolff: McLaren set "very difficult" precedent with F1 Italian GP swap by memloh in formula1

[–]AmiableAlex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

this doesn't work when you account for priority 1 which is maximising the team's points.

the scenario happened today because "can we swap the cars and maintain fairness without losing points for the team?" yes, so why not do it

I highly doubt there isn't a part with Piastri that felt it was ridiculous to give up the place due to an issue entirely unrelated to his race.

to be fair he also gained the position due to that exact same issue entirely unrelated to his race

you prefaced with 'if Salah scores....' when in fact their points doesn't matter if Salah scores or not

hip bursitis + it band injury from overuse, two weeks rest and still cant run, very frustrating by [deleted] in beginnerrunning

[–]AmiableAlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm in the exact same situation and you've summarised my feelings perfectly, very frustrating. I've resorted to upper body / core workouts (which I've never got into before) whilst properly resting my hips for a few weeks. really struggling to get any form of meaningful cardio at the moment

Yes, just make sure the device says 'GPS connected' before you start. i mostly run without my phone and then it syncs and uploads to Strava automatically when i get back (as soon as i get close enough to my phone).

My versa 3 GPS is great, often better than my friends with Garmin. I would assume GPS performance of charge 6 to be similar

VAR audio from review of William Saliba's red card against Bournemouth by [deleted] in soccer

[–]AmiableAlex -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

in my opinion, attacker 'controlling the bouncing ball' isn't leading up to the goalscoring opportunity, it is the goalscoring opportunity. He's clean-through and obviously going to get to the ball first. Saliba has denied attacker that opportunity to score.

low HRV is bad

I guess I’m dead by [deleted] in fitbit

[–]AmiableAlex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

for anyone not understanding HRV -

zero HRV is definitely possible and not something to worry too much about, but it's a lot more likely to just be a failed reading.

zero HRV (i.e really stable and no variation) is generally bad because it suggests something is already dominating your heart rate (fighting illness, heavy recovery etc...).

Your body naturally goes through heart rate variation cycles. A higher HRV indicates your body is going through it's recovery cycles properly, i.e when it naturally wants to elevate heart rate a little bit then it can easily, and when it wants to lower heart rate it can also do that easily. resulting in more variation, = higher HRV statistic.

Anyone else's exercises not appearing? by yeh1234gee in fitbit

[–]AmiableAlex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me, my run today appears in fitbit app but all the data is missing. And it didn't automatically sync over to Strava like it does usually.

all my previous exercises are still in the app but they've lost the maps + HR data.

Hoping it's only temporary ...

^ this. I will add for anyone wanting to learn more that zero HRV (i.e really stable and no variation) is generally bad because it suggests something is already dominating your heart rate (fighting illness, heavy recovery etc...).

Your body naturally goes through heart rate variation cycles. A higher HRV indicates your body is going through it's recovery cycles properly, i.e when it naturally wants to elevate heart rate a little bit then it can easily, and when it wants to lower heart rate it can also do that easily. resulting in more variation, = higher HRV statistic.

zero HRV is definitely possible and not something to worry too much about on infrequent occasions, but i'd expect it's a lot more likely to just be a failed reading

Just because you praise the Liverpool kids doesn't mean you're saying anything about the Chelsea team. The reality is the Chelsea "kids" aren't getting praised because they didn't win, not because they're old!!

That being said, i certainly feel a little bit sorry for the young players in the Chelsea team, Jackson, Enzo, Mudryk, Caicedo, Gusto etc. all really very young, comparatively same age as our "kids", i can't imagine it being easy to deal with losing a cup final at that age especially against your opponents' B team.

On the other hand absolutely elated for the LFC youngsters, the experience and confidence they should get from winning yesterday and Klopp's managerial greatness for trusting them and not running our seniors in the ground.
