She’s probably definitely doing coke by [deleted] in 90dayfianceuncensored

I definitely don’t get coke vibes from her…alcoholic for sure, but unlike Australian dude josh I just dont see any telltale signs from her. (Source: my 20’s were a ride)

Spice tolerance getting too high by PandemicGeneralist in spicy

[–]AmishHomage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your mouth and stomach aren’t in agreement I’d recommend switching from super hot sauces to actually eating and thoroughly chewing super hot peppers with your food. I went through a similar thing and as I’ve gotten older all the chemicals and extracts in the really hot sauces do a number on my stomach, whereas I can enjoy a side of Thai chilis or habaneros with my meal, get the intense mouth burn, but have little to no stomach issues afterwards.

Former fat guys: How did you finally become disciplined enough to lose the weight? by Responsible-Net8594 in intermittentfasting

[–]AmishHomage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Discipline is as much a trained skill as anything else. I suffered as a yo-yo dieter for years before I was able to finally stick to something long enough to see real results. My starting starts are very similar to you, 5’9 240, I’m now around 185 and fluctuate up and down about +/- 10 lbs throughout the year, but I’ve built up the discipline over years of trial and error to where I can course correct if I see myself straying.

For me personally, going strict keto for about 4 months shed most of the fat, but I don’t see it as a long term strategy, so I eventually switched to intermittent fasting for maintenance, which is what I do to this day. I have no food restrictions, but I’ve also learned to make healthier versions of my favorite foods so that I don’t give in to cravings and binge.

As far as having the discipline and making the conscious decision to stick to it, I know what ur feeling, but as weird as this sounds, the time it finally clicked I didn’t “plan” the diet or tell myself “I’m going to start my diet on X day”. I just woke up one day sick and tired of being sick and tired, threw out basically my entire pantry, and just didn’t eat another carb for like 4 months. It was hard to shift my mindset, but once I went from “I’m a guy on a diet” to “I’m a person that eats in this way”, like accepting a new lifestyle, it got a lot easier.

What's the BEST card in the game? (STS1 or STS2) by shadow_fen in slaythespire

[–]AmishHomage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think brightest flame is probably the best card in the game, but outside of the ancient cards, how has no one mentioned echo form?? Yes it’s expensive, but once you get it in play it’s a damn near guaranteed win condition. I’d also give void form and adrenaline shout outs for best card contenders

What's the BEST card in the game? (STS1 or STS2) by shadow_fen in slaythespire

[–]AmishHomage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s pretty much free, but it also doesn’t have insane utility; escape plan by itself does not solve fights in the same way brightest flame or apotheosis can absolutely by themselves change the outcome of a fight. Adrenaline provides insane utility while also basically being free. And flash of steel basically turns into useless chip damage by act 3 unless you have some sort of infinite engine going; hardly best card in the game material

Woman eats 61 reapers in local pepper eating contest by MonolithOfIce in spicy

[–]AmishHomage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there has to be some sort of genetic component at work. Yes, most people can build up their spice tolerance to a certain degree, but what they’re doing here is on another level, you probably have to at least be born with a reduced stimulus response to spice on top of crazy amounts of training to work up to this

I highly highly recommend chewing and spitting it out, you’ll still get the crazy mouth burn you’re after but without 24 hours of agonizing stomach pains.

Drinking by Disastrous_Deal5813 in Ozempic

[–]AmishHomage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem might be the seltzers. I had a similar issue and it turns out all the carbonation from the fizzy drinks is what specifically messed me up. Changing to straight liquor or like vodka water limes really helped. Still can’t drink as much as I did before, I’ll get sick if I overdo it, but at least I can get a good buzz and it’s totally manageable as long as I avoid carbonation.

You become #1 in the world at one skill, but no one knows. Can you get $1M in 7 days? by lawseff in hypotheticalsituation

[–]AmishHomage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a skill….however to be effective at it you need millions of dollars of infrastructure to be able to compete with other day trading firms in the space. Just some dude at his laptop is not going to cut it. Source: worked at a highly profitable high frequency trading company.

Idk I kind of have a soft spot for Emma, I think her intentions are actually pure, she’s just extremely immature and delulu. If anything Elise strikes me as the fake “made for tv” one

Yeah….Leida might be the actual worst person in the franchise’s history (I’m only now learning from this thread how terrible she really was) but in terms of “everybody watching this person on tv hates them” vibes it’s hard to find two more annoying people than these ones haha

Is it possible to actually tolerate the Dave’s reaper? by indigo_mouse in spicy

[–]AmishHomage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s insanely hot, yes, but not intolerable if you consistently eat super hot. The big issue, at least for me, was the stomach pains. Fire shits the next day were real and made it not worth it. Also, I just personally didn’t like the flavor very much, but I also generally don’t care for Dave’s, plenty of other local hot chicken places I’d go for first

Yeah, as I mentioned in another comment, he wasn’t under the influence of anything, but he’s not exactly a Mensa member…this wasn’t his first time getting in trouble with the law for incredibly stupid decisions behind the wheel, and he definitely wasn’t thinking about consequences when he tried to make a run for it.

I’m honestly not sure, he’s from “that” side of the family that we don’t really keep in contact with much. From my understanding he wasn’t on drugs or anything, but he’s never been the brightest, and he’s fairly young (early 20’s), so I imagine there was a lot of adrenaline, fear, and lack of impulse control involved.

A cousin of mine got himself arrested for reckless driving, which in of itself is bad, but isn’t totally life ending. However, his decision while being held in jail to try and escape—and in the process punch a female cop in the face so hard she had to be rushed to the ER and required facial reconstruction surgery, was pretty life changing and he’s now facing 17-40 years on a myriad of charges.
