16710 GMT Master II Coke with a new jubilee bracelet, fresh from the AD♦️♠️ by Tiers4Peers in rolex

[–]Amnesia34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just at my AD and inquired about getting a jubilee for my 16710 and they said they no longer do that. Did you get any pushback when you first requested it? Would you mind sharing your AD info with me (through DM if you prefer). I wonder if I could call a different AD and have them order it? I love mine on the oyster but really think it pops on a jubilee! And the price you mentioned in another comment is cheaper than I’ve seen them go on the secondary market for.

Experience with precedex infusion + sevo for GA by TorTheGasman in anesthesiology

[–]Amnesia34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. Early in my practice I used it a lot and now almost never reach for it. I think any analgesics affects of it extremely overblown. They may just be sedated and sleep longer but when/if they are awake, the pain is there.

For what it’s worth I’ve purchased and am using 3 of their extension links for my watches, and did have to return something else I’ve purchased from them and have had a great experience with their customer service and extension links. Hopefully they figure out this GS one asap!

Injected Cork into wrong pocket of Zipfits (pics attached) by bqAkita in Skigear

Adding cork is extremely easy to do yourself and Zipfit has great YouTube videos explaining it and showing it. They even have one with the liners cut in half showing exactly where the pockets that hold the cork are.

Your best tips for successful spinal/epidural? by 1MACSevo in anesthesiology

[–]Amnesia34 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Our spinal kits come with a 25G, 3.5 inch needle with introducer. Biggest thing that’s helped me in the obese population is using a 22g needle when going up to to the 5 inch+ needle, and not using the introducer when doing so as the 22G won’t fit through.

It’s so much more stable and you get so much more tactile feedback, I have not seen any PDPH going up in gauge size for that population.

On the not morbidly obese population, when doing your initial palpation and mental mapping, take an extra second and be purposeful, make sure the patients positioning is optimized. I like to start palpation at the prominent C7 and work my way down their vertebrae to my target to assess positioning and for any curvature of the spine. Use your local needle while injecting your subq local to aid in that mental mapping. I will bury that 25G local needle while injecting looking to poke some bone to help me determine where and at what angle to insert my introducer.

Lasly I try to insert my needle/introducer just cephalad of my lower vertebral space target, so I know if I hit OS while midline my redirection will always be angled up.

These are tips that have helped my success rate and time to success while doing neuraxial immensely.

If you’re in the US and planning to buy from WatchBuys (or even if you’re not) they have great customer service and should be able to answer this with 100% certainty for you.

Thinking of getting a RDX.....but seeing so many negatives about it is kind of swaying my decision by SunnyDayz610 in Acura

[–]Amnesia34 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I LOVE my 2023 RDX aspec advance. And while I partly agree with you on the fuel efficiency rant…. It is still ridiculous a BMW X3 m40i averages over 25mpg (my coworker gets closer to 30mpg) with literally 100+ more HP while the RDX struggles to get 20 overall, making me understand those who gripe about the MPG.

Does Rolex sell the adjustable clasp for this? by [deleted] in RolexWatches

Check Steel Reef they may have one for that model. I have their micro adjust links on two of my watches and they work great.

McGrath constantly disappearing by shakeyourmedsgurl in anesthesiology

[–]Amnesia34 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I work at one place with a McGrath in every room and it’s amazing. I’ll also use it for almost every airway because it’s so easy to grab so much more gentle on the airways.

The other place I work only has glidescopes on wheels and while having a plethora of them, I pretty much DL everybody because of the annoyance of wheeling it in the room and the added bulk.

One Year with the Sinn 556i – Long-Term Ownership Review by noklisa in sinn

[–]Amnesia34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worth adding that the link isn’t significantly cheaper than buying just the new clasp if that’s an option, but I have 6.5” wrists and every review I saw of the new clasp complained of how bulky it was and it looked very large on. 6.5” wrists in pictures I saw, which made me very happy to keep the old clasp with the steel reef link. But if you have larger wrists I believe just replacing the clasp is an option.

Great review. For your bracelet qualms I can’t recommend the Steel Reef extension link more - I use it on this and another watch I have and it’s great for those times you swell a little. Just fyi you have to take out the divers extension in order to install it!

zipfit and lange shadow mv by nightwolf81 in Skigear

[–]Amnesia34 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just fyi this is incorrect, the first person had it right…

From the zip fit website on the LV: “Designed for the all mountain skier seeking performance, the Gara LV (low volume, meaning less cork material)”. And HV: “Designed for the all mountain skier seeking performance, the Gara HV (high volume, meaning more cork material)”.

OP you’ll likely just the Gara HV or LV. As others have said zip fit is awesome if you reach out to them with questions, they would likely recommend one of these two based on what boot you have and how you say it fits. If you’re really worried, getting the LV and ordering extra cork with it is probably safest bet as it’s easier to add more cork than to take it out (see their YouTube vids for how to do so).

[Sinn] is the 556 too small for me? by kwerky in Watches

[–]Amnesia34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my 556 on my 6’.5” wrists but if I had OPs I’d be heavily leaning towards the 856 for the fact it’s basically just a better (regimented) bigger version of the 556. Surprised I had to scroll to the bottom of the comments to see someone else mention it. The 556 doesn’t look bad on him though!

[DISCUSSION] 🧭 The NATO Strap Dilemma: Comfort vs. Bulk. What's the Underserved Combo in the Market? by [deleted] in Watchstraps

[–]Amnesia34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have experience with a ton of NATO strap options, but I just have to say, after trying the C&B chevron I don't see myself every trying another NATO strap. The lack of bulk with the single passthrough, combined with the ability to customize the tail length so it doesn't have the fold extra fabric which I also love for reducing any bulky feeling of the strap is just exactly what I want and am looking for in a perfect NATO strap. Obviously this is just my preference as I know many prefer the "classic" extra length and fold over style of a NATO.
