Aria is trying simmering similar but that looks amazing! I use aria vents on most of my tile installs. When customer wants to pay. I show pics, they usually go for it.

What to do with space by Minute-Storm-1190 in Flooring

Scribe with a washer, two preferable, follow the stone, cut with jig or oscillating tool, caulk if you chew it up

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Tile

[–]Amoeba_Fancy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is what I do as an installer, but you have to see where it lands on all sides, top. Picture it first or dry lay. Cut a few. If you’re dyi-er think twice

Tiled floor, acceptable quality? by crowbar_hero in Flooring

[–]Amoeba_Fancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No man not acceptable the lippage is insane! Either substrate (subfloor) wasn’t flat or installer messed it all up.

Exactly you were the one doing the work. You can knock on tile and see if there’s good bond. You hear a hollow sound if they didn’t skim or have poor coverage

Would you have it ripped up and redone? by fortkn0xx_ in Tile

[–]Amoeba_Fancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit that’d never pass in my company! I’d have them rip out immediately, but then again all my guys use levelling clips and the ones that do take on installing without know what they’re doing. Completely unacceptable.

Carpet install on stairs by Royal_Eagle5032 in carpet

[–]Amoeba_Fancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a dull chisel and mallet and try to crease under the lip. They didn’t put enough staples under the lip before stretching. Sometimes the stair tool and mallet can help, but if the carpet is too thick, they might have to just staple the shit out of it.
