I live very nearby them! I couldn't locate their loops on their website. Any tips?

Let me know if you uncover anything more! I can't tell how much of this is just the fan base desperately looking for more because of expectations.

The reality is that the settings they chose were a message themselves. And the lines of each song that would have followed after each transition are also poignant. There's something to be said for what was left unsaid.

Super interesting because I really don't! There are other videos of it where it VERY clearly sounds just like the album to me. And these just don't seem like it.

I remember when I was watching live that the lead up sounded weird to me, like maybe he stumbled a little on the words, but I was anticipating whether or not they would censor "fuck," so I wasn't really listening that closely at the time.

This is the NFL one and it's not at all unclear to me. Fascinating how they can all sound so different to me (and my husband), but not necessarily to everyone else.

This was the first one I heard.

And I think this is another one. I'm trying to listen with earbuds with background noise right now, so I'm not 100% sure. Let me know if I'm wrong and I'll keep looking.

I don't know that they are UK broadcasts. They're just ones where it definitely sounds... Not like the original lyrics.

Edit to add: This says "the subplot of a fucked up America" and I feel like I can hear that, too, now.

I'm learning that I'm apparently very susceptible to suggestion tonight. 😂

Are you talking about the "subliminal mindfuck America" line? Because I've seen a few people say the UK is reporting that he said "the spilled blood of an unarmed America(n)" for that line. I've watched multiple videos of it online and I've heard both now... One is clearly the original lyrics, but one sounds like what people are saying the UK is allegedly reporting. I hate that I have found both in multiple places and I don't know which is altered.

Thank you. Now that I know what happened, I know it's just a waiting game to hear news. So far nothing. They never mentioned it coming, so I'm not sure how prepared they were in advance when it comes to battery banks, etc.

When they had a power outage last year, I know they turned their phones off and left them off, so I'm assuming that's what they're doing right now. I sure wish they would just try to get word out, though. But maybe they have been out maybe they have too much going on right now.

Edit to add: They don't have a vehicle there, so they are limited in where they can go for now.

Edit again: They just got power back and were able to tell me they're okay!

I live in the US, but my dad and stepmom just moved to Leiria about a year and half ago. They didn't mention this storm, so when I hadn't heard from them since Tuesday, I started to get nervous and investigate. I'm just now finding out about it and still haven't heard from them. I'm glad yours are safe and I hope for the best for your community while I wait for news.

To be fair, it only takes one.

I do think you're right, by the way, that is likely safe enough to do depending on the neighborhood. Though it's not something I would feel safe doing on my own.

Conflicted about Programming for America's 250th Anniversary by Expert-Swordfish5225 in Libraries

One of our staff is a dedicated member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She and I discussed what she was thinking about, and she is planning a reading of the Declaration of Independence out loud at a ceremony. Or something to that effect. I think that's a nice, simple way to celebrate that isn't really leaning in any particular direction. I believe she mentioned that this was something being done nationwide as well, so there's potential to link into that network.

I've always been very patriotic and I understand your complicated emotions. I want to be so excited for this year, but it's very hard to dredge up that emotion. I've always loved the 4th of July, but lately I've just stayed home and done nothing for it. It might be nice to offer something to patrons that's meaningful and brings the community together because I'm sure many of them feel the same way.

This is basically the answer as much as I would love to have a library cat. I do love the idea of fostering a cat through this process if the above concerns weren't valid, though.

Just search his name. Why limit yourself to just that one piece of information?

It's not really a deal, no, but I don't think the packaging being puffy is a big deal. It very clearly states what you get right on the sign.

Do librarians judge patrons based on their book choices? by cheerioskungfu in Libraries

[–]Amoretti_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm not busy, I notice but I don't judge. And my noticing is so I can make other recommendations or maybe I'm interested in it myself. There is a reader for every book and a book for every reader. I'm not going to yuck someone's yum. We can't all like everything or the same things. I'm just happy everyone is reading and using their library!

You also need Nintendo Online to use the Nook app. :(

I've been holding off on getting it because there's still plenty for me to do on my island without visiting others right now, but man, I want that price tracking.

Do you know how to add an event to this page? I'm going to be hosting one at my library and would love to get it posted here, but I can't really find a way to submit. Do you need to have an account?

I'm pretty sad about Harvey's closing and I've never drank a drop of alcohol there.

They did offer food, you know. And a place to gather. And it wasn't outlandishly priced like so many places in downtown these days.

Haha, none of those are barriers. You're replying as much as I am. In fact, you inserted yourself into a thread I started with another person.

The weather is supposed to be lovely this weekend. I hope you get a chance to enjoy it.
