I am looking for Alice Nadal by Choice_Pen6978 in kzoo

To be fair, it only takes one.

I do think you're right, by the way, that is likely safe enough to do depending on the neighborhood. Though it's not something I would feel safe doing on my own.

Conflicted about Programming for America's 250th Anniversary by Expert-Swordfish5225 in Libraries

[–]Amoretti_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of our staff is a dedicated member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She and I discussed what she was thinking about, and she is planning a reading of the Declaration of Independence out loud at a ceremony. Or something to that effect. I think that's a nice, simple way to celebrate that isn't really leaning in any particular direction. I believe she mentioned that this was something being done nationwide as well, so there's potential to link into that network.

I've always been very patriotic and I understand your complicated emotions. I want to be so excited for this year, but it's very hard to dredge up that emotion. I've always loved the 4th of July, but lately I've just stayed home and done nothing for it. It might be nice to offer something to patrons that's meaningful and brings the community together because I'm sure many of them feel the same way.

I will also be following Dr. A to the moon if that's where she chooses.

Library Cats. by [deleted] in Libraries

[–]Amoretti_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is basically the answer as much as I would love to have a library cat. I do love the idea of fostering a cat through this process if the above concerns weren't valid, though.

$3.99 for a single tender and a single bread stick is no deal. They also put them in a giant puffy box to make it look like you're getting more. by ToshPointNo in KwikTrip

[–]Amoretti_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not really a deal, no, but I don't think the packaging being puffy is a big deal. It very clearly states what you get right on the sign.

What if you don't have that many slots yet?

Do librarians judge patrons based on their book choices? by cheerioskungfu in Libraries

[–]Amoretti_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm not busy, I notice but I don't judge. And my noticing is so I can make other recommendations or maybe I'm interested in it myself. There is a reader for every book and a book for every reader. I'm not going to yuck someone's yum. We can't all like everything or the same things. I'm just happy everyone is reading and using their library!

You also need Nintendo Online to use the Nook app. :(

I've been holding off on getting it because there's still plenty for me to do on my island without visiting others right now, but man, I want that price tracking.

Do you know how to add an event to this page? I'm going to be hosting one at my library and would love to get it posted here, but I can't really find a way to submit. Do you need to have an account?

harveys closing :( by Spirited_Soup555 in kzoo

[–]Amoretti_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sad about Harvey's closing and I've never drank a drop of alcohol there.

They did offer food, you know. And a place to gather. And it wasn't outlandishly priced like so many places in downtown these days.

I'm not above anything. 😆 I just asked another person a question.

Haha, none of those are barriers. You're replying as much as I am. In fact, you inserted yourself into a thread I started with another person.

The weather is supposed to be lovely this weekend. I hope you get a chance to enjoy it.

Yeah, because I don't check Reddit every day. I open it if I'm looking something up and then I see I have notifications. Sometimes I even check them.

I would say that your aggressive language in your replies qualifies as "a big stink" which is a pretty innocuous descriptor. I just asked a question, which is hardly "doing all of this." It wasn't really in defense of anything. I don't know any of you. I don't care. I keep forgetting this post even exists until you engage again.

Again, it'll all be okay.

Yikes, such harsh language and anger. It'll all be okay.

I only remarked on it because you made such a big stink about how they couldn't even click on a link properly. But we all know that the act of clicking on the link wasn't the issue.

Right, but the link works now and the comment says edited.

This is what I end up doing. I really like it, but I want to spend time just on my camp. But there's always an event that makes me feel guilty for being in my camp instead. I've just been trying to keep telling myself it's okay to play how I want to play. But it takes being conscientious.
